When I first saw the front fork of the Plasma Caster, the shape reminded me of the kind of ugly, impractical "mall ninja shit" that you can often find at flea markets and gas stations. Typically made in China out of cheap metal and adorned with skulls, dragons, spikes, and fake plastic jewels, these utterly useless knives are often the prized possessions of incels and edgelords who "studied the blade" while everyone else was going to parties and getting laid.
I took one of the tines from the front fork of the base game Plasma Caster mesh and removed some faces to bevel it into a blade. I then added the handle from the Throwing Hatchet, shortening it a bit so that it looked balanced next to the blade.
I went for a more elegant, refined look rather than try to replicate the gaudy ostentatiousness of the knives that inspired it and the end result kind of looks to me like some vaguely exotic weapon, like an Ethiopian shotel or Egyptian khopesh crossed with some kind of Japanese woodworking saw. As I was making this, it occurred to me that this might make a neat replacement mesh for the Ritual Knife from Point Lookout, which in turn inspired this weapon's party trick. Whenever you use it to attack a dead human NPC, it will resurrect them as a feral ghoul who is allied to you, at the cost of some Karma.
Gameplay-wise, this weapon is basically a machete. It can't be modded but can be repaired with any kind of knife.
