oh this is literally exactly what i was looking for! i always wanted to bond with arcade over being gay latin geek kids, but obsidian cruelly denied me, lol. thank you so much for the mod!
@JamesiaInc As good as the writing for New Vegas as a whole is, there's a lot of places such as this where things really should've been written differently. You've got several places where you can tell they only wrote it from the perspective that the Courier has no idea about a particular topic, likely for people new to Fallout, no matter what their background is. But in this case, there's really no reason why the Courier couldn't have a prior understanding of Latin. That's why I love mods like this, they fill in the gaps where Obsidian fell short in some places.
There's a lot of smaller instances of it too. I always think of convincing Trudy in Ghost Town Gunfight. The Success dialogue says to the effect of "Explosions, lots of shooting. Sounds fun, right?" Like, that's just terrible. You're basically saying you're just there to watch the dynamite fly and don't give a damn about the townspeople. Funnily enough, the Sneak check is better, you convince her with a plan of ambushing the Powder Gangers with a sneak attack.
So yeah. Small tweaks like this really make the game that much better.
Thank you so much I always thought it was weird I could quote Latin when interrogating Silus but when i get to Arcade i cant use that knowledge to my advantage to impress him.
