This mod is one of a series of Retro Character mods designed for role-playing character types and styles of play based on "retro" films, television, and books. Here's a list of the whole series: A KNIGHT WITHOUT ARMOR https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67491 TRUE DETECTIVE https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67615 GANGBUSTERS https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67663 WRANGLER https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67789 OLD WORLD SCIENCE https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/67905 SECRET AGENT RETRO https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68014 GUYS AND DOLLS https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68204 THE INVISIBLE MAN https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68450 ARCHAEOLOGIST https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68790 JEDI AWAKENING https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68613 RETRO SUPERHERO https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68938

Hit blueboar! Once again, thanks for your amazing mods and all the fun I'm having playing in Fallout with them!
I have a question. I'm confused about the sleeping effect power. How does it work?
I've used it several times by now. Sometimes, it will cause only the targeted (aimed at with the crosshair) NPC to fall unconscious, as I thought was intended. Other times, I used it and made several NPCs fall asleep all around my target, which did not happen in the previously mentioned occasion; I fought about 8 people, and had to target them all individually to knock them out, but the second time I attacked a small group of foes, I shot once, they all dropped.
Then there was the last time which REALLY confused me, because I fired the power at an opponent attacking an allied NPC while another allied NPC was running along with me towards the other two... and not only did both the enemy and the ally in front of me dropped asleep, but the allied NPC BEHIND me dropped as well! XD
So... what is it, is it area based centered on the user and I was just incredibly lucky to only get within reach of 1 person every time I fired it in the first scenario, while the other two were me getting sufficiently close and hitting more than 1? Or is it supposed to be 1 target per shot but whackiness ensued?
The Mechanist, AntAgonizer and the Silver Shroud are some of the most memorable characters in the series, so as far as I'm concerned, I would TOTALLY run around in spandex with my superpowers in that universe if I didn't already have my 'heroic' persona as a mad scientist in a labcoat with super-sciency goggles, lol.
Seems like a pretty well done mod over all, have not found any obvious glltches etc really, but i do feel like maybe I am not understanding how to use all the powers.
For example I tried super senses, and while the night vision is pretty easy to get working, the other aspect seems to be a melee weapon that does nothing but cause blue flashes when i hit things. I have no idea how the long distance, or observe enemy aspect of the super sense is meant to work.
The distance vision function is based on the game's binoculars. They are classed as a weapon, which seems odd; what you need to do is "equip" the "weapon," then use the right-side mouse button to zoom in.
You are my new favorite mod author, next to th3Overseer and SomeGuy2000
Keep up the good work!!! I have also downloaded similar mods before (Fallout Heroes, Bionic Augmentation, 5 Books, Steel Trimmed) because I am a sucker for new gameplay mechanics. Thanks for keeping FNV alive!
I don't know if it is a bug or the fault is on my end. I took the Body of Steel power, but bullets still manage to damage my character. I don't remember the bullet type, but I'd like to inform you of my case anyway. Maybe someone has a similar problem. But overall, not a big deal for me.
Ah. I maybe overpromised -- damage can be done to you, it's just greatly reduced. But "bullets bounce off" seemed too familiar a superhero meme to neglect. So you've done nothing wrong; the problem is in my wording.
Unlikely to actually play with this mod cus of personal preference but I downloaded just so I could endorse because this is truly beautiful and I love this idea XDDD
First of all: I love this. Second of all: If you ever do elect to update this, I'd look into the Fallout Heroes and Bionic Augmentations mods for ideas of how people have added extra-human abilities to New Vegas before. I love me some hero stuff, so GG!
Thank you - I hadn't seen these. Have you looked at the Wolverine Perk Mod by theoneness? It doesn't have the '50s flavor I want in Retro Superhero, but I enjoyed it a lot.
At last ! Now you finally can play as beloved superheroes Flip Bipley, Smash Collins, The Beige Wonder, Super Murderer, Dr. Vitamin, The Tooth, Size-Wise, The Five-Fingered Fury, and many, many more !

Ok I found it. It's now called 8 Books.
