HVK-30 - Tactical Multi-Purpose Assault Rifle

This mod adds the HVK-30 and its unique variant, High Velocity Kicker, from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 into the world of Fallout: New Vegas. The HVK-30 is an effective and powerful assault rifle designed for tough enemies and great for a late-game player.

Name: HVK-30 - Tactical Assault Rifle
Current Version: 1.0
Date Added: 4/19/2020
Category: Weapons
Author(s): Aluminia
Requirements: None, only Fallout: New Vegas

Description

As mentioned on the tin, this mod adds a popular and versatile weapon from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 into the world of New Vegas. This was undoubtedly my favorite lead-firing gun from the multiplayer and especially Zombies. Anyone reading this who has used the same weapon from Black Ops 3 knows just how effective the HVK-30 is. Powerful, accurate, satisfying, and tears through enemies incredibly easily. The Pack-A-Punch'd version of the HVK-30 from Zombies, the High Velocity Kicker, is even more effective at killing everything.

I loved the weapon so much I thought it would be fun to make one for New Vegas, and I ended up being proud of it, so I thought it appropriate to release it so others can use it and enjoy it too. The upgraded Zombies' variant was even more fun to create. So here you go!

The weapon is definitely overpowered, so I have hidden it in multiple locations only found towards the late game as a balancing factor. I don't know yet how to include weapons into leveled lists to prevent errors for other mods, so hence the idea for multiple locations for the gun to be found.

The HVK-30 and its unique variant are extremely powerful, best saved for the most intense fights, boss battles, or end-game content. Keep this in mind since if you manage to retrieve it early on, you'll essentially have a death laser and nothing will stand in your way.

This mod uses edited vanilla assets such as models and textures, but also has custom firing sounds and weapon mods.

As you can see by their stats, the weapons are extremely powerful. High Velocity Kicker is a god-tier weapon, only balanced by its high AP cost, low health, and slower projectile speed.

Weapon Mods

The standard variant, the HVK-30, has two weapon mods available for it, all are found in the same locations as the rifle itself. These two mods are a short-range see-through red dot sight (ACOG style) and a suppressor. The unique variant, High Velocity Kicker, has no mods available, but comes with a see-through red dot sight (holographic style).

Location(s)

The standard HVK-30 can be found in several locations, with seven rifles available. The locations are:
- Inside all of the four faction safehouses (Brotherhood of Steel, NCR, Legion, and Followers of the Apocalypse)
- Inside of the workshop at Nellis Air Force Base
- Inside of the Nelson Barrack where you can fight Dead Sea
- On a bed frame on the Scavenger Platform in Lake Mead

The High Velocity Kicker can be found tucked in a corner near a cabinet in one of the Jacobstown Bungalows.

Installation

Preferably, please use Nexus Mod Manager or Mod Organizer for easy installing and uninstalling. The mod archive is packaged in a way it should be impossible for it not to install correctly.

To install manually (not recommended), you need to extract the files to your data folder and activate the ESP.

To uninstall, just delete the extracted files in your meshes and textures folder and delete the .esp file. If you're using a mod manager, just simply deactivate the mod and delete its archive.

Credits, Permissions, Known Bugs, Compatibility, Other

There are currently zero known bugs for this mod. Should be compatible with anything that doesn't extensively change any of the locations mentioned previous (no mods do so to my knowledge).

Huge shout out to mc_tammer's Base Game Look-Through Red Dot Sights Modder's Resource that I was able to use to create the red dot sights you see on the weapons, thank you.
