Just makes it to where you don't automatically become a thief if you decide to repair Doc Mitchell's SMG for him.


Please don't hurt me.  This mod won't bring New Vegas to the next level.  It's intended—like that other mod, Doc Mitchell Easier to Impress—to be used at the beginning of the game and then removed from one's load order and forgotten.  Or perhaps added to a miscellaneous merge with a bunch of other trivial mods that don't do much.  In fact, I'll include optional files that have both of these Doc Mitchell tweaks in one package, since they're both no longer any use shortly after starting the game.

Anyway, nothing more to add on the functionality.  But what's the point of this mod?  Well, the game normally makes you keep Doc Mitchell's 9mm SMG if you decide to repair it for him.  Now, I get it: All of the stuff in Doc Mitchell's house is "free to take" by the game's rules, and he probably genuinely doesn't mind, at least not that he would say.  But does that really make it right?  Maybe you're not the sort of person who abuses someone's goodwill like that.  Maybe you just wanted to do the old fellow a kindness in return, and fixing his broken gun is the only thing the game lets you do.

Just me?  Okay, fair enough.  I don't know why I'm uploading this, to be honest.


Installation: Put this near the top of the load order, or at least above Interior Lighting Overhaul if you're using that.
