Does this replace the textures of already placed vehicles or does it actually add MORE rusty vehicles on top of already existing ones?

Look into archive invalidation, or use a mod manager.

It had been what, 200ish years after the great war? I'm surprised there's anything metal that isn't a pile of dust. The one saving grace Fallout 3 had was that everything was crystalized by the nuclear bombs and so would have been frozen in time.
Don't even get me started on Fallout 4, that thing is a whole nother' can of worms..

I agree. Logically, the old world should not have been left out of the word "completely". But...there are game conventions and you don't want to have to put up with them. However, I want to note that the edits are not the most critical.
P.S. If you follow the logic - you need to remove absolutely all cars\lamps\lamps and so on., replace most of the buildings with more crumbling ones, add later buildings made of trash\clay\homemade bricks, remove all the garbage (that's what really surprises me-mountains of garbage on residential territories).

Very true. The only "handwavy" method I can conceive is if we could assume that anything covered by say, a building or in a cave would be mostly free of everyday erosion and could at least sort of be preserved. There are many places that still have items made of tin and wood that have somehow remained largely intact after several hundred years simply because they were either in an underground cellar or an abandoned building.
The packaged food is probably more of a joke to do with modern day preservatives, but at least they had the foresight to use the radiation system to explain how it wasn't exactly 100% fresh.

One thing I can't explain, however, is how so many guns can remain functional and even capable of being fired after 100+ years of neglect or storage.

As someone that lives in the desert I can tell you that stuff typically lasts a lot longer than you'd expect out here. You can google up images of vintage vehicles rusting out in the desert that are decades old. Since there's very little water in the air, and very little water falling out of the sky, the only thing wrecks have to contend with is oxidation from the air.

Man, this mod is so underrated. It really adds to immersion, and pairs well with other mods that add more cars, such as roads reborn. Endorsed.
Also, thank you for making the textures normal size. Is so hard to find retextures that aren't 2k or 4k. I'm on the low end of things so I really apreciate it.

Hey, great idea! This never made sense to me either, but moreso a thought in the back of my head. This adds to the overall immersion of the game, great job!

Hello and thank you. In fact, I am seriously thinking about a full-fledged metal replicer for more rusty-red shades, as well as replacing bricks\concrete\whitewash with more faded\destroyed by time. I think it will be interesting.

Really nice ! Are the textures the same resolution as the vanilla ones?

Hi. Yes, the vast majority. BUT there is an exception in the form of a pair or three.
