What's the blue coat your guy is wearing in the screenshots? I love it.

Hey, Im trying to install this mod, but it keeps giving a "child" error. Is there a fix?

Sorry, I don't know what a "child" error is. Are you installing it automatically via a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex? Or are you installing it manually? The best method is to install using a mod organizer and follow the FOMOD prompt windows to install the version you want to use.

Hey, i see this got update. I'm still using the v02, what's the step to update it?
Do i need to unequip first, save, uninstall, save, then install or just overwrite directly?

Edit: i forgot to read the file description. ('_')9
Edit2: i still prefer v03 with the naming (just item name, no -small -medium -large) and the pretty world model on doc mitchell porch (v04 free backpack only has a box with 6 bag to choose inside)

Hello, thanks for trying out the mod! I'm glad to hear that you enjoy v02 and v03. If you missed the v03 update when it came out, I initially included Optional downloads for different backpack sizes to overwrite the main v03 file (seen in images section). With v04, I want folks to have access to all the different backpack sizes in-game vs installing a single main backpack file and optional size downloads. This necessitated the name changes of the backpacks to differentiate them. Those Optional sizes have been removed from the Files section here on Nexus since they're now included in v04. I also liked walking out of Doc Mitchell's house to see the backpack sitting on his porch, but I ended up having to change it to a container so all the backpack sizes could be obtained with no extra hassle for the optional Free Backpacks .esp users.

Can you please make a version which adds the backpack to traders or a proper location instead of Doc Mitchell's porch? It's basically free storage otherwise.

Alternatively, maybe giving it -1 AGI or something could offset the instant benefit it gives - you can carry more, but you are more bulky and movement is harder and less precise.

I would also appreciate a TTW version that simply adds it to a location in the Capital Wasteland

No problem, just give me a day or two. I don't have FO3 and TTW installed so I won't be able to implement that suggestion. If you or anyone else wants to help out with that part, that'd be awesome.

Edit: All done, version 04 is up.

Hi there :) Nice to see you keep updating your mod. I have to admit, "PlausibleSarge" have a good request. Would be glad to help with that, only thing is ... I'm not that good yet in modding, (never added anything to Merchant Inventory list), but if someone want to show me. Again dasmart88 thanks for you mod :)

Hi Kane1051. If you're interested in trying to add an item to a merchant's inventory, I suggest following steps 1-5 of "Creating a new container owned by the vendor" on the "Adding items to vendors" GECK guide at http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Adding_items_to_vendors. It took me a couple hours to figure out through trial and error. What I realized after many failed attempts was that step 4 (the part that mentions VendorChestsCell) is incorrect for New Vegas. I don't know if it's different for FO3, but in New Vegas, you have to place a container (with your new items in it and set it to be owned by the merchant), into the worldspace with that merchant. For example, to get Chet to sell my backpacks in his store, I placed a footlocker containing the backpacks inside the Goodsprings General Store underneath the floor (clipped into the ground). The rest of that guide is accurate as far as I can remember. I couldn't understand the the Leveled List scripting method though. Again, this was the method I used for New Vegas. The guide may be correct as it is written, for FO3, but I have no way to test it.

Could you make it a bit smaller? That backpack always looks too huge.
Otherwise great mod, nice use of vanilla resources!

Thanks! Yeah I can make it as small or big as you like. Give me a few days and I’ll try to release an optional smaller backpack file.

I saw today the 10% smaller size file and already downloaded it. Good job! I like the backpack a lot.

Good bag for wanderer/tribal playthrough, right in time for 2020 rerun.

Agreed. I think it has a simple, rugged quality that fits the western Fallout theme.

Yeah, i downloaded whole lots of mods for my 2020 rerun, including some bags mods. Really find this one by accident when i open nexus vegas front page. I instantly knew this one is for me.

Suggestion though, would it be possible to make the bag as a 'moving/portable container' ? I feel like it would be better if the bag itself doesn't add weight to player, but instead the bag has its own weight-space limit (60 as the mod intended) so player can put stuffs inside the bag and carry it ?

      Just my personal opinion.

Thank you for giving the mod a try. I considered doing a portable container option while originally making this since I’ve seen some other mods do it with their backpacks. I’ll look into it, but it might be beyond my level of modding expertise if it involves scripts.

Hi there, nice mod ;) Want to make a request, can you change the Pipboy icon from your backpack (it use Combat Armor image) to the "Strong Back" icon.
