The reason for this is the Snowglobe Collection; specifically the cute snow particles that build up within each globe.
But don't let those adorable little baubles fool you; they have a ravenous hunger for Frames. Hunting in packs, they can bring down even the most powerful PCs.
Thankfully with a little tinkering in Nifskope I found it's possible to remove their particle emitters, which is what this mod does.
