Is it just me or or is there no real difference between the hologram and dress retexture from this to the main game? they look exactly the same to me, only the hair changes it seems

      dress retexture affects player dress.

Hologram got a few fixes to the base air, who had incorrect tezxtures assigned, and a new face.

I checked the dress while it was on veronica before and after i enabled it and couldn't see any changes. Also saved in front of Vera's hologram but also didn't see much. Could you add a picture with a before and after? Not sure what base air is.

Is this a default replacer for all Vera instances? Weird question I know but I use this https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40627 and was just curious if the Vera option in it would use the new look. If this is an overall replacer then I imagine it would.

yes it replaces the vera hologram model, so it should also be replaced in that mod too.

Love the Updo version. Is there a mod that lets the player/NPCs use the hairstyle?

it's a wig, not a hairstyle, meaning it cannot be selected in the character creation menu, due to it haveing multiple textures.
To wear it all you need is a vera playable wig mod.

While not exactly what I was looking for, it's almost as good! Thanks for letting me know. I suppose that if I wanted to change the wig's color, I'd have to use the GECK. Could you be so kind as to refer me any guides I'd need to learn to do so? All I know how to do with the GECK is drag and delete objects.

no you need to paint the textures of a different colors. Wigs do not react to colors. if you try to get them to change with the  geck system they'll crash.

Well you just expanded my narrow view of modding. What software would you recommend to do this, and which file(s) specifically would I need to change? And what would I need to do to make this newly-colored wig a separate item from the original so that I can use both at once?

you'll need Nifskope (where you'll be able to locate the name of the files, and assign them to the new model
gimp\photoshop + dds plugins to change the texture color.
Google to look up the stuff you dont know how to do.
Google is a powerful tool, and will be able to find any information you want in both text and video format, just google how to "do whaever i am trying to do"
and GECK to add the new item ingame.

if  you want to learn more about mods you can also look up my tutorials, even if hey are probably more in depth than beginner level.

At first when I downloaded this mod with Vortex, the texture of the repaired wig did not change. When I manually downloaded the Elizabeth wig retexture, there were bright red streaks in the wig that do not appear in the screenshots for the mod... anybody have possible explanations/fixes?

you need to only have ONE ARCHIVE INVALIDATION ACTIVE AT A TIME.

Remove Archive invalidation from the FNV mod,anf from FOMM,and only USe the built in archive in vortex.
Deactivate it and reactivate it after installing ANY new mod.
These are the basic instruction for every fallout new vegas mod.not doing this will result in issues with 90% of the mods.

the description says i need "an editor to the vanilla DLC content"...what does this mean? I've modded FO4, Skyrim,Dragon Age Origins and DA:Inquisition. This is by far the most finicky game to mod. Tons of patches and crazy stuff happens. had to reinstall so many things because of texture glitches i almost stop playing. now i'm running around with the shadow of some armor sticking out sideways from my shoulder. I'm reinstalling all my armors trying to fix. Anyway, I really want to use the wig cause there aren't any wig mods for this game. If anyone knows what this "Editor" is I would appreciate the info. I'm also gonna try the Vera Companion mod with this. Thank You for the mod. Really hope to use this.

it's a typo.it means you need an esp editing VERA's wig and set it to playable.Like this mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54083/ (obviusly you'll only be able to use the wig version you chose.)

the wig is vanilla, and in the vanilla game it is not set to playable (due to engine limitations, wigs do not work in this game and clip through most of the npc heads,so they are only used by specific npcs.),so without that other mod, there's no way to equip them unless through cheats.
