Alsa, BlueAmulet, Victorca25 and a probably a few others on discord mostly for helping me learn how to use ESRGAN to begin with, without them I probably wouldn't have learned how to train my own model for ESRGAN as well as them helping me with the numerous bugs i encountered with it. Credits to alsa and BlueAmulet again for their bc1-aggressive and bc1-smooth2 models respectively which without I wouldn't be able to get clean up-scales. At the time of writing this(November 13 9:40pm 2019) I have a new person helping me with this project,in future updates you can expect to see normal maps and lots of other maps i cant remember the name of yet redone by this person here https://www.nexusmods.com/users/19549744?tab=user+files

Changelogs

nvdlcpre2(falloutnv)
nvdlcpre3(falloutnv)
nvdlcpre4(falloutnv)
nvdlc04(falloutnv)
nvdlc05(falloutnv)
Whats left: In the future I hope to get some new normal maps and environment maps made for a few weapons and perhaps polish up a few textures that couldnt be upscaled quite cleanly, but other than that its technically a complete pack.
Version 0.7
Version 0.7 currently contains upscaled textures for the following weapon groups (base game textures are done. got a ton of dlc stuff done) All textures have been upscaled for the following dlc:
dlc03(fallout3)
dlc04(fallout3)
dlc05(fallout3)
dlcanch(fallout3)
dlcpitt(fallout3)

Version 0.5 currently contains upscaled textures for the following weapon groups (no DLC, base game only so far):
New: "2handlauncher"

"1handpistol"
"2handautomatic"
"2handhandle"
Version 0.4
Version 0.4 currently contains upscaled textures for the following weapon groups (no DLC, base game only so far): "1handgrenadethrow" "1handmelee" "1handminedrop" "1handpistol" "2handautomatic" "2handhandle"
Version 0.3
Version 0.3 adds upscaled textures from the "2handautomatic" folders for each pack as well as adds a 2k and 4k stand alone pack for Fallout New Vegas so now y'all got 3 choices to pick from in 2 resolutions each. I'd say I'm about halfway through upscaling the main game textures, once they're all done I'll move on to the dlc which should move along much faster.
Version 0.2
Version 0.2 adds upscaled textures from the "1handpistol" folder as well as fixes a very small amount of melee weapon textures with redundant alpha layers. its currently late though tomorrow I'll try to upload a stand alone fallout 3 version of this mod and if i have time a stand alone new vegas version as well, assuming things go smooth and i have time.
Version 0.1
Version 0.1 currently contains up-scaled textures for "1handgrenadethrow" "1handmelee" and "1handminedrop" folders, only the base game not dlc textures(yet) for both packs, I'll almost always update both packs around the same time as I upscale textures per folder, keeps it more organized and lets me catch errors in images easier. I'll get the base game textures done which is the vast majority then do the dlc stuff. i know its nowhere near complete which is why I decided to upload it now, to get feedback down the line and I'll update it with new up scales when I'm not terribly busy.
This mod is a texture pack to upscale the vanilla weapon textures for Fallout 3 and New Vegas while retaining the original style and feel. Additionally I have used ESRGAN mainly for my up-scaling and went as far as to create 2 custom models to handle fallout's odd texture style as some pre-trained models didn't have what I was looking for, even though I put a lot of work into training a model I know it nor this pack will be by no means perfect nor do I intend it to be, at least not right now although I have found good success with it and I think these textures could possibly benefit in the long run such as giving re-texture modders a better source to work with instead of the usual 512x512 or 1024x1024 max texture size in the game files if they want to use these files of course, but that's my take on it either way I hope people enjoy it and can make good use of it. For this mod I will also only be doing a 2k resolution pack and a 4k one as I'm sure some would want it, only reason I'm not making a "1k lite pack" is because it would be redundant since a vast majority of the textures are already 1k and the quality difference would hardly be worth the effort unlike a full on custom re-texture as I only focus on up-scaling and preserving the look and feel of vanilla textures while keeping them high resolution. One last thing, i fully intend to cover ALL of Fallout 3's weapon textures, there's very few packs for Fallout 3 and most don't cover all of the weapons, also once this pack is complete i will work on an armor pack as well, again I can probably make a separate pack for Fallout 3 and New Vegas individually for those who don't use TTW but I don't think many New Vegas users will use it since weapon re-texture project is a thing, but again i can take the TTW packs and separate them into their Fallout 3 and New Vegas textures if need be, also one last final thing for sure this is also my first mod. So yeah, enjoy! And before I forget, yes this mod is lore friendly. I also say that because idk what else to put in the description.
Also yes any screenshots by me will probably look like garbage and while there arent too many to start with ill try to get more.
Installation: Same as any other generic texture mod. also yes i realize this page is god awful since its my first mod and may have someone help to re-organize it. new team member helping with this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/users/19549744
