About this mod

Adds a fairly basic custom rifle and pistol that do corrosive damage and a small lore bit for them.

I love the Corrosive Glove, and always think of Borderlands corrosive weapons when I find it, and figured why can't guns have some acid spitting fun?

I made this pretty quickly, and it's super basic(the rifle's reload animation is broken as well, since I changed it's impact data set, and idk how to work around that), and I'm not really anything more than a casual modder. Mostly just a fun little project, and more a proof-of-concept for myself to see if the corrosion effect could be applied to other weapons(spoiler - it can), figured I'd share the end result.

I didn't include any images besides weapon stats, as they're visually exactly the same as the basic Bozar and Laser Pistol (GRA), I feel like we all know what they look like. The only thing different is both weapons now have the Q35 Matter Modulator projectile and the stats have been edited to reflect the weapons better.

It adds -

  • Corrosive Pistol - Uses C-Cells or Corroded Cells- custom cells made for use in this pistol. This utilizes the fact that they've corroded over time to do damage to enemies. It's just a GRA Laser Pistol, and the C-Cells are basically just energy cells. (Repaired with Laser Pistols)
  • Corrosive Rifle - Uses Corrosive Bolts - custom rifle rounds made by packing some corrosion from bad batteries into the 5.56mm round. It's just Bozar. (Repaired with Plasma Rifles)
  • Tiny bit of lore, a bunch of Med-X, a few empty whiskey bottles and a note.

The Corroded Rifle can not be upgraded, the Corroded Pistol can be upgraded with all the GRA Laser Pistol's normal upgrades, though the "Focus Optics" upgrade now Silences instead of it's original mod, I figured it could be a nice little sneak crit gun. They both have a high crit multiplier of 2.5% to get that acid burning!

Base stats are shown in GECK in images.
Obviously, requires Gun Runner's Arsenal, and also Old World Blues(but nothing else, only those two DLCs... well and base game). I figured it fit nicely in OWB since that's where the corrosive glove(and its effect, I'm lazy and just stole the corrosive glove's effect) comes from and the person who created the weapons was exploring there at the time of their death.

I don't know how to do recipes or really anything regarding a way to receive more ammo. I would like to add the ammo(through a note, giving the recipe) to the workbench/reloading bench! If anyone wants to help me out with this, I'd be super grateful!

If you know how to mesh and texture stuff, and want to, feel free to take this as yours and add custom meshes and textures to the weapons and ammo. I'd certainly love to see that, though I have no idea how to do it myself!!

I think everything should work fine, but let me know if you're having any issues and I'll try my best to sort you out!

The pistol is easy to find(with normal exploration of OWB), the rifle is a little more obscure.
Shouldn't conflict with too much, maybe things that edit 3 specific cells in OWB, otherwise not at all. The following spoiler tag will tell you all locations edited, and will also tell you exactly where to get the weapons, so if you'd rather the 'challenge', and have no mods that do much to OWB(or just load it later than them in your LO), don't look! It's only the .esp.

It edits the Mysterious Cave, Mobius' House, and X-17. Otherwise, all items are new, non-replacing items or just from base game. Of course, this does mean you'll have to figure out the Legendary Bloatfly.

The video I've included is(will include within the spoiler tag once it's uploaded to Youtube) -

For those who are having trouble finding them, specifically the rifle, as it is pretty well hidden. Don't mind me being an idiot in multiple ways, like failing to shoot lobotomites with my abysmal energy weapons skill(or my abysmal mouse moving and clicking skill), then trying to shoot lobotomites with my expensive pulse slugs(and hitting a pillar's hit box - gotta love Fallout!), then bumbling my way through Mysterious Cave, apparently it doesn't record the lighting differences done by other mods I have, so the cave is super bright in the video, but in game it's so dark I can't see anything without getting right up on it. I'd tried to avoid using the night vision, and ultimately that failed. Also, not sure if you can see any of the lobotimies'... uhh... bits.

Hope you enjoy!
