If bugs persist, and they well might, it's still better to get this mod out sooner rather than later, since most of it depends on the user starting fresh.
Does the challenge require I CARRY the corpse of Harland's friend to him? Cause that doesn't sound fun at all. Carrying corpses (even if it's just a giblet from a corpse) restricts the player to walking speed. With how fast the nightkin patrols move in the dungeon, walking speed simply isn't fast enough to move through the area without coming into contact with a nightkin. I'd like to know if anyone had completed this challenge, or if it's been tested.
Not really a question, but the challenge itself isn't showing up in the challenges tab of my pip-boy, even though every other challenge from this mod is. Does it only appear once I've completed it?
> Does the challenge require I CARRY the corpse of Harland's friend to him?
Yes.

Nope, it can be done. They have certain patrol patterns and those need to be abused. I undertake this challenge in every playthrough. What might help: Being dressed in light armor so your runspeed isn't further compromised. Also: The latest compatibility skeleton causes corpses to be very nearly immune to being carried around, especially up stairs (and this may actually be what you're referring to). There's no perfect solution to this, but I have found that carrying corpses, at least, can be pushed back to essentially the vanilla experience by using this console command:
This effectively overrides the extra weight which NV Compatibility Skeleton unfortunately adds to humanoid corpses. The downside is that it also makes it easier to carry anything else in the game.
I'm not trying to say this is a simple challenge. But it's also not altogether difficult. Any MGS alumni would likely scoff at its simplicity. I added it because I realized it could be done, and also that there's nothing else quite like it in the game.
> Does it only appear once I've completed it?
Correct. It is hidden. This was also done because of the above-noted reason: There's no other challenge like it, so I didn't want to make users feel as though they were obliged to attend to this oddball challenge.
Thanks for the fast response. Yeah, I'm using the latest compatibility skeleton and the corpse feels as heavy as a brahmin to carry around. Sorry if I sounded a little testy, I was just frustrated and didn't realize that the body was given more weight than vanilla. And it's good to know that my challenge tab wasn't bugged. Thanks!
I tried to complete the challenge of killing Cook-Cook with his own firearms, but although I got it, he didn't recognize it (I disarmed him when he had the Incinerator equipped, picked him up and used it against him, but it was useless). Is there a "hidden" condition to meet the challenge and that you "conveniently" forgot to mention?
Sounds like a great mod! But even though I didn't even try it yet, I think I'm gonna open it in xEdit and remove the "Star Collector" challenge, because this game tends to make objects fall through the world, and I would feel this huge itch if I couldn't complete this challenge even though I didn't leave any stone unturned in the game!
It seems that having this enabled while approaching Harland in the Repconn Test Site basement causes him to lose his dialogue/a dialogue bug. He'll greet the player as if they've already spoken: "What do you want now, smoothskin?" Afterwards, no dialogue options are available except for "Time for me to go."
if a blue star cap has fallen through the world for some reason. Are you just screwed? :/
Because its not like I jostled it the lean to one just doesn't exist. :( I hate to not complete the challenge because something out o f my control. ah well i suppose.
I'm aware of this tendency of the physics engine to cause this issue. That said, I also suspect most people interested in sidestepping the problem have already gotten into the habit of saving the game before picking up small objects on desks and whatnot. If you make certain to pick up the star cap first, it doesn't really matter what falls into oblivion after that point.
That said, if you think you've encountered the problem irretrievably, you have a couple of options. Either "tcl" in the console to turn off clipping and go rooting through obstacles to find where the cap landed, or use "IncrementScriptedChallenge xx000800" where xx is the hex value for this mod in your load order.
