About this mod

A simple mod that changes your character's default movement speed based on the agility stat, now with two variations.

It's always bothered me that New Vegas's manual claims agility affects your movement speed when it actually doesn't, so I sought to rectify that.

With this mod installed every point of Agility will cause your character to move 5% faster, but the new default movement speed is set to 75% the base game's default speed. The means at 1 Agility your character is slower and will only move at 80% the base game's default speed, at 5 Agility your movement speed is equal to the default walking speed in the base game, and at 10 Agility you're 25% faster than the base game's default walking speed.

I've also added a more subtle variation simply called "Agility (Subtly) Affects Movement Speed)" that changes the values so the effect is smaller. Agility only causes you to move 2% faster per point of Agility and the default movement speed is 90% the base game's when using this version of the mod. The end result is at 1 Agility your character moves at 92% the base game's default speed and at max Agility you move at 110% the default speed. Preferable for people already using other mods that increase your speed, want to avoid crashes from moving too fast at the original mod's max speed, or just feel like the original mod's speed change was too drastic.

Since these mods sets your "speedmult" actor value instead of modifying it, it should work with most effects and other mods that include temporary changes to your movement speed. Just personally testing it, Project Nevada's sprinting worked fine with this mod, as did perks like Tunnel Runner and Light Touch, and speed debuffs such as crippled legs and being over-encumbered slow you down relative to your new movement speed.

The only prerequisite for this mod is New Vegas Script Extender, after which all you need to do is install the mod using the mod organizer of your choice and then launch the game using the NVSE extension.

Previous versions of this mod didn't account for using the console to adjust your agility far beyond 10, which could result in extreme movement speed that made the game unplayable. This should be corrected in the 1.2 versions.

Since the mod sets "speedmult" instead of modifying it, if you uninstall the mod then your altered speed will remain the way it was at the time you last used the mod. This can be fixed by opening the console, typing in "player.setav speedmult 100", then crouch to force the game to check for the change. That should reset you to the game's base movement speed.

I don't anticipate any other issues unless using other mods that "set" the" speedmulti" value but it's always a good idea to make a safety save before you install it, just in case.
