This is the "dead" version of my ground cover overhaul for New Vegas. If you prefer a greener more alive looking mod you will prefer A Wasteland in Bloom instead. Many of the ground covers are from that mod but heavily desaturated or edited but there are also new plants and dead flowers.

Your fallout ini (grass section) should look like this for best effect (used in most of my images):

iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=12
iMinGrassSize=40

If you are using Mod Organizer 2 then you must use its ini editor which you will find under Tools. Editing the .ini's in other places will have no effect! Adding my old .ini files also seems to have no effect! (i can't remove the files so i put them under Archive, don't use them other than for looking at what they do / change).

FAQ:

Q: What does this mod do?
A: It places 12 new meshes onto the various LandTextures. They will only spawn where grasses spawns originally. The mod also retextures the default grasses (this dds file can not be used stand-alone though due to how i've edited it, it needs the meshes/esp).

Q: Performance is bad!
A: Edit iMinGrassSize=40 to 80 instead, it will spawn much more sparse grass but will be more performance friendly. You can also try the medium resolution texture pack or even the Low res (lower than default game textures).
NVSE with this mod also helps a ton (for me at least): https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59266
Make sure you read up on all the performance fixes you can do for this game including ENBboost (=better memory management than the original game). It's a very, very badly performing game unless its heavily tweaked, in my experience.

Q: Is this compatible with other mods that alters grass, like Wasteland Flora and Terrain Overhaul at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community (nexusmods.com) ?
A: Yes, but don't use the BSA version of Groundcover Overhaul, and make sure Groundcover Overhaul has higher priority otherwise one of the grasses are bugged and will have a broken texture.
