DESERT TROOPER SUPPORT

The Troopers will be dropped off via vertibird, and the player can choose between 4 different classes; infantryman, grenadier, heavy gunner and sniper. The troopers will fight alongside the player until killed. They will follow the player by default, and enter sneak mode alongside the player. Each trooper can also be made to wait or be dismissed independently of the others by activating them. They will remain stationary and sneaking while waiting for the player to return, or will leave the area immediately if dismissed.

By default the maximum amount of troopers that can be called in is 5, but this can be changed by changing the global variable 'dtslimit' to your chosen amount in the console. However only change this when no troopers are currently called in, as it will mess up the variable counts etc. You wont be able to use the radio whilst a vertibird is performing a drop off or the maximum amount of troops are currently deployed. You will be able to use the radio again as soon as the vertibird leaves and/or a trooper has died.

The troopers will all be equipped with Desert Combat armour and matching helmet. The armour can be changed between sleeveless and sleeved by setting the global variable 'dtssleeved' to 0 or 1 respectively in the console. A message will appear to inform you of the change, and will affect new troopers only.

The troopers will be equipped with different weapons depending on their class. Infantrymen will use an Assault Carbine or Laser RCW. Grenadiers will use a 10mm Submachine Gun and 5 Frag Grenades or a Plasma Defender and 5 Plasma Grenades. Heavy Gunners will use a Minigun or Gatling Laser. Snipers will use a Sniper Rifle or Gauss Rifle. To change whether the troopers use guns or energy weapons, set the global variable 'dtsenergy' to 0 or 1 respectively in the console. A message will appear to inform you of the change, and will affect new troopers only.
