DESCRIPTION
I really like the 10mm Pistol from Fallout 4. I think it's elegant, well-proportioned and just plain sexy. Then, I look at the 10mm Pistol from Fallout 3/New Vegas and oh, man... And to make matters worse, it's so common that I have to look at it all the friggin' time! So, I loaded up the mesh in Blender and started experimenting, and this is the result. It's still chunky as all hell, but at least I can look at it now.

First, I removed the widget under the barrel and reduced the size of the block it was attached to. I left a little bit of it because I liked the way it looked, and it arguably now functions as a barrel weight to reduce muzzle flip. Next, I shortened the barrel and lowered the sights so that the height-over-bore distance wasn't quite so egregious. I also slimmed down the profile, and if you look at it from the front, it's a good half inch slimmer than the base game model. On top of all this, I challenged myself to make these changes with minimal visible texture distortion, and while it wasn't completely avoidable, I think I managed to "hide the crimes" quite well.

Standalone Version: Gameplay-wise, this is the same as the vanilla 10mm Pistol, but at half the weight. Thanks to the weight reduction, it also fires faster (less slide mass to move) but with slightly more spread (less mass also means less inertia to resist recoil). As far as mods go, it accepts the 10mm Pistol Silencer, Laser Sight and Extended Mags.

Since this is a modder's resource, you're free to use the mesh in your own mods, or take my plugin and modify it however you like to suit your purposes. You don't need to ask permission, but I would appreciate a credit and a link to your mod, so I can see what cool stuff people are doing with the things I make.

LOCATION
Standalone Version: The weapon has been added to all the appropriate form lists and leveled loot/vendor lists, but I also added a line that gives you the pistol as soon as the game starts. I figured it's such a basic, low-tier weapon that it won't break your game if you get it right away. You still have to find your own ammo for it, though.

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.
