DESCRIPTION
I was inspired to make this by looking at Soviet Bloc pistol-configuration AK clones, specifically the Romanian-made Draco and Yugoslavian-made Zastava M92 that are quite popular imports in America.

I started with the legacy-content Chinese Assault Rifle mesh and shortened the barrel, removing the bayonet lug, cleaning rod and the folding stock as well. I also adjusted the iron sights so that they line up properly when aiming down the sights and also fixed the missing texture on the charging handle. For the modded versions, I used the drum magazine from the Riot Shotgun and the silencer from the 12.7mm Submachine Gun. The color match is pretty good, and close enough that I didn't feel the need to make any changes. Lastly, I adjusted the position of the magazine well so that it was flush with the receiver, to more closely resemble the "nose-in, rock-back" style of magazine found on Kalashnikov-pattern rifles.

Gameplay-wise, this weapon has very similar stats to what it had in Fallout 3 but with reduced weight and a larger spread, due to its shortened barrel. I also boosted its damage output slightly to raise it a hair above that of the Assault Carbine, since that is chambered in 5mm and this is 5.56mm, which is a larger-caliber round and should thus do more damage. It can be modded with the Light Machine Gun drum magazine to raise its ammo capacity to 75 rounds, and the 12.7mm SMG silencer. I've also added the weapon to all the appropriate form lists, loot lists and vendor inventories.

LOCATION
The weapon can be purchased from the Gun Runners, or from various other vendors across the Wasteland. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, you can always use the following console command (Substitute ## with the number of the mod in your load order):

player.AddItem ##000ADE 1 ;Gives 1 Chinese Assault Carbine

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.
