Indispensable, because a lot of interiors are very well and lovely lighted and Friend of Night just break the full thing. With this mod, you can use it only when necessary, as an undetectable light
Beware, as said by Undeadrat, if you already have the perk, you must remove and re-add it with the console :
For those wanting to change the hotkey, you can create a .txt file in nvse/plugins/scripts (if using MO2, you'll need to create the folders yourself in the mod's folder), ensure the name starts with gl_ (such as gl_potato) and copy in SetOnKeyDownEventHandler FotNHotkeyUDF 1 ## That ## corresponds to which keyboard key is used based on position; default is 37 for K, I use 33 for F, Q would be 16, - would be 12, and so on. Anything outside of that block of keys, or for keyboards that aren't english language standard, or for mouse keys; I dunno, type in random numbers and see what happens.
Thanks for sharing this! It worked perfectly. Here's a list of all the scancodes for the keybinds: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/DirectX_Scancodes_And_How_To_Use_Them
It doesn´t realy work for me: currently all it does is turning a blue filter over everything on or off, but there is no difference in the light-levels... And yes, i did remove and re-added the perk via console command. Is there something i´ve overlooked?
hey thanks for this mod. is it possible to give us a version without the check if it is night condition so we can use this in dark places during the day ?
The idea is very simple but very nice at the same time i appreciate your work but there is a problem the when you toggle of the FOTN perk the game tries to force it back on and it is causing flickering
Is this TTW compatible? I have the required files but it does not appear to work when pressing the "K" key at all, no difference in light levels inside or outside and yes I am trying it in different locations at night.
Apparently I need to have this before I get the Friend of the Night perk. Someone at the TTW forms said it works just fine for them and I would need to use console to remove and re-add the perk. I tried it and it indeed does work now :)

Player.removeperk 00165118
Player.addperk 00165118
PS : dont forget to download the addon by AvalancheO if you have some flickering lights :

Thanks for the tip.

I'd like to ask if would be possible to make the hotkey customizable thorough an INI file.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your work!
