LSO - A Lightweight Strip Overhaul

Description

The Strip, we all know it and love it, but one issue I had with it was that it was absolutely riddled with junk. Cars, litter, damaged roads, and junk walls all made this city quite the eyesore, this is only mentioning the exterior, the interiors were just as bad and had walls filled with cracks, peeling wallpaper and stains that made it seem like the owners weren't expecting guests.

This is where this mod comes in, the junk and litter has been cleaned up, the degraded roads have been fixed up with fresh asphalt, the walls are clean, smooth brick, and the casinos have fresh wallpaper as well as had their floors cleaned, all as they should be.

Installation/Uninstallation

To install this mod, you can either install it using a mod manager of your choice, or you can manually install it yourself by placing the ESM in your New Vegas directory. If uninstalling, all you need to do is remove the ESM from your load order and ensure you are not in any part of the Strip.

There are two versions of this mod, the first that cleans up the Strip, and the second, which does the same but retains the original walls in order to maintain compatibility with mods that remove the inner walls of the Strip.

Compatibility/Load order

The vast majority of mods are compatible with this mod, however, mods alike New Vegas Restoration can have issues, to resolve this you should load this mod after NVR to overwrite its changes, although for maximum compatibility they should not be used together. (Note, if you use the NVR minimum plugin this mod makes it redundant so it should be removed.)

Mods that expand the Strip by removing the inner gates *should* be compatible with this mod, I generally advise avoiding these mods however as in my experience they have a tendency to cause odd NPC behaviour as well as making some events stop triggering. This can depend on your load order however, try it and see if it works for you.

Disclaimers and other general notes

- This mod contains no UDR's, ITM's or deleted navmesh, making it safe to use.

- When objects are removed, the navmesh is edited so that NPC's can navigate through the area in which the removed object was present.

- The changes YUP made to some portions of the Strip have been carried over to ensure the changes it makes are carried over.

- This mod was designed with compatibility and stability in mind, it only edits what it needs to and has been thoroughly checked in FNVEdit.

- A few areas are untouched by this mod, areas like the Lucky 38 and Michael Angelo's have not been cleaned up because I felt that it was appropriate given that one has not been visited in over 200 years and the other is a workshop, so naturally, they'll be messy.

That's it really, if you have enjoyed the mod make sure you endorse it and share it with others to help it grow.
