About this mod

This mod adds a re-creation of Han Solo's iconic DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol to the Mojave Wasteland.

Permissions and credits
Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for this baby strapped to your hip! The choice of discerning scoundrels everywhere, don't be caught without yours, or someone else might shoot first!

This is a brand-new mesh that I made entirely using vanilla base game assets and textures, and should therefore be 100% compatible with everything, with no mod conflicts. The base weapon is the unused Chinese pistol, with a modified laser tripwire emitter on the barrel acting as a muzzle brake and a shortened scope taken from La Longue Carabine. Gameplay-wise, this weapon has roughly the same stats as a laser pistol, but with the damage output of a laser rifle. It uses small energy cells and holds 15 shots per magazine. It also boosts your Charisma and Luck by 1 point each.

There are two versions of the mod included in this archive. Only enable one or the other:

FNV DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol (First-Person Scope).esp
  • This version puts a scope overlay on the screen when you aim down the sights.

FNV DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol (No First-Person Scope).esp
  • This version centers the gun without using a scope overlay when you aim down the sights. (I personally prefer this version, as the scope overlay obscures a large part of the screen, while without it, it lets you play with a more quick-draw style.)

LOCATION
The gun can be found in the bed of the crashed pick-up truck in front of Doc Mitchell's house in Goodsprings, or if you're feeling lazy, you can use the following console command (Substitute ## with the number of the mod in your load order):

player.additem ##000ADE 1

Additionally, I've made an optional download available that hides the gun in a custom-built interior cell somewhere in the Wasteland for you to find, if you feel that grabbing it from the bed of a truck isn't immersive enough. This file requires the Dead Money DLC. If you're stuck and want a hint for this version,

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enabling the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.

Any comments and constructive criticism are welcome. Feel free to use the mesh in your own mods, but please give me a credit if you do! Thanks!
