Description

This mod adds in the mechanics to allow for easy manipulation of the camera in a
cinematic way. Useful for producing machinimas and trailers.

How this work

When you first enter the cinematic camera mode an axis point will be made using the initial X-Y position of your character. You will now be able to swing the camera around on that axis and adjust the radius, speed of the spin, and speed of the altitude just by holding down certain keys. You will also be able to adjust the X-Y position of the axis.

When the camera is swinging or rising it will continue to move automatically without having to hold down the keys. In fact, the longer you hold down the keys the faster it will move. Holding down the alternative key will slow it down and eventually move it in the opposite direction.

You can also toggle the automatic swing and altitude. When it is paused you can still swing and raise the camera but it will not keep moving after releasing the keys. When you toggle back on the automatic swing and altitude, it will continue to move at the same speed as it did when first paused. This makes it easier to move the camera into the position you want it at before it starts moving automatically again.

Unlike the automatic camera movements you get with the swing and altitude, which increase in speed as you hold them down. When adjusting the radius and X-Y axis position, as well as, when the swing and altitude are paused, the speed of the movements is controls by a different variable called Speed that is set by holding down a different pair of keys.

Controls

Keyboard / Xbox controller

Right Control to enter and exit the cinematic camera mode.

Q-E / LT-RT to increase or decrease the radius of the circle the camera swings around.

A-D / Left Stick Left-Right to increased or decrease the speed of the swing and the direction of the swing.

W-S / Left Stick Up-Down to increase or decrease the speed of the cameras altitude and whether is rises or lowers.

Arrow Keys / D-Pad to change the X-Y position of the axis that the camera swings around.

Left-Right Mouse Click / Y-B to change the speed of the non-automatic camera movements. Effects the speed of adjusting the radius, X-Y position of the axis, and when the automatic swing and altitude are paused.

Spacebar / A totoggle the automatic swing and altitude camera movements and allow for easier positioning of the swing and altitude.

Mouse Wheel Up-Down / LB-RB to adjust the camera field of view.

Globals

You can quickly change the settings of the camera variable to precisely what you want by setting the global variables in console. Example: set CCRadius to 1500

CCRadius sets radius of the circle the camera swings around.

CCSpin sets the speed of the swing. Setting a negative moves it in the opposite direction.

CCRise sets the speed of the cameras altitude. Setting a negative moves it in the opposite direction.

CCSpeed sets the speed of the non-automatic camera movements.
