About this mod

Alter the name, damage, sound and lore of the That Gun and 5.56 mm Pistol to weapons used by the likes of Officer Rick Deckard and Officer K. Very lore friendly (seriously read it, I spent a lot of time on it).

THIS MOD IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED.

Oh man! 2017? What a time to be alive...covid hadn't happened yet. Even so, 6 years later...almost to the day...I'm popping a long overdue notice here.
This mod is no longer supported, we're talking three or four machines ago. I no longer have the files, lost contact with the guy who provided the coat textures  and don't have time to go looking I'm afraid. If it's bugged or missing I can't help, but hey I think the pistols still work?

That said...I think the textures might be in the files somewhere, might take someone talented to go diving in and find it, but it's possible if someone wants to make their own mod off mine, you have my full permission.

Likely a fluff up from the mods I had loaded at the time, shameless teen that I was...

The files will stay up, available for download so I hope you can all continue to use it   :)

Thank you everyone who downloaded, endorsed, and enjoyed this mod!

After watching the newest film, Bladerunner 2049, I wastotally hyped. I especially loved the pistol from both the first and latest movie.
As luck would have it the That Gun and 5.56mm Pistol (GRA) are exact models of the pistols from the movies. So, naturally, this mod was made.

What is this mod?

Effectively it takes the two pistols mentioned above, renames them, beefs up their damage and replaces their gunshot sound to
something heavier for that authentic Bladerunner Officer experience. LAPD and
LVPD are Los Angeles Police Department and Las Vegas Police Department, in case
of confusion. I’ve taken lore from both universes into consideration for those
concerned about immersion. For instance, the colours of the That Gun correlate
to the original prop from the film so the name has been picked accordingly.
Look it up.

That Gun = LAPD 2019 Blaster
Damage = 300
Location = Dino Bite Gift Shop, Cliff Briscoe

5.56 Pistol (GRA) = LVPD 2019 Blaster (GRA)
Damage = 300
Location = Gun Runners Vendortron

(Prices vary but I know y’all ain’t grinding for caps thesedays)

Update

This mod now includes Rick Deckard's coat as an optional file.

Lore - The courier, if travelling south from Novac (the location of the LAPD Blaster) can stumble upon a Wrecked Highwayman vehicle, half submerged in radioactive gunk, a little ways off the road. The trunk has been sheered off, presumably during the chaos of the war and inside there seems to be an oddly familiar looking coat. Perhaps we do know what happened to the police detective after all.

Effects - Perception +4, Gun skill +25, AP, +40
You're gonna need all the help you can get when hunting Replicants. These generous effects are countered by the fact the coat is one of a kind.

Other - You can find about 5 or 6 other trench coat styles in the lucky 38 suite as part of a separate mod, each giving 25+ speech.

Lore!

October 22nd 2077 – A police detective out from Los Angeles, arrives in a small town outside of Vegas, a town that would become
Novac. He’s tracking a wanted criminal and believes he is hiding somewhere in
town. He goes checking the rooms of the motel, asking locals if they’ve seen anyone
suspicious. Little does he know the suspect is heading out of town on the
southwest road via motorbike. The detective, while searching one of rooms detached
from the hotel building, sets his gun on a table. Suddenly, sirens are raised
across the town and a commotion is heard outside. Without hesitation, the
detective rushes out the door to find locals staring upwards in horror. He
joins their gaze as he sees the sky full of arching white clouds from missile
smoke. The town falls into a blind panic and the detective is lost amidst the
commotion, never to be heard or seen again.
Roughly 203 years later, Cliff Briscoe breaks open the doorto the room looking for any salvage to sell. He finds an odd-looking pistol,
with a thick layer of dust on top, sat on a table top. After polishing and
repairing it, he notices the model of the gun inscribed on the side. He places
it in the back room of his gift shop, next to a dinosaur, and there it sits,
unused. Until one day…

2281 – The Gun Runners have released an expansion to their armory and have sent traders, convoys and merchants to sell new weaponry to
vendors across the wasteland. On the return route from the Mojave Outpost, the
Gun Runner convoy saw tall black smoke clouds rising from Nipton and had to
adjust the route they took. While walking past the Nevada Highway Patrol
Station, a Gun Runner agent decided to look inside for any supplies. Whilst
carelessly pulling out drawers, expecting to find nothing, a small stack of
blue papers flew out and scattered about the room, one landing next to the
agent’s foot. Curiously, they picked up the paper, shook it down a little and
realised they had struck gold. The papers appeared to be unused schematics for
a ‘Las Vegas Police Department Blaster’, an old but exceptionally powerful
pistol. Giddy with excitement, the agent stuffed the schematics into their rucksack,
and left the station as it was. For the rest of the trip back the agent was
anxious and restless, much to the confusion of the rest of the convoy crew, as
they refused to explain but would put it down to Jet withdrawal. Once back at
the Gun Runners compound, the agent burst in the main building and gathered the
gunsmiths. Impressed with the agent’s work, the gunsmith’s immediately got to
work studying and crafting the new pistol.
