HUGE UPDATE! March 3, 2021 Version 2.0 will not allow NPC's to fall over when the player is not in combat. Falling over only occurs during combat. This prevents crucified people, injured refugees, and pre-injured characters from falling down when not appropriate. This also cured some CTD's I was having in certain areas. An all around improvement.
However there is one slightly immersive-breaking element to this mod. When you start combat, all actors who have broken legs in the area will all fall over at the same time. They will all get knocked down in unison. This looks absolutely silly.
In version 1.8, I think I've fixed all the problems people were having. I also added some hot new features.
BUGS-
SECURITRONS ATTACK ME FOR NO REASON BUG: I think I fixed this. The reason this was happening was because my script was automatically killing all NPC's who had their head crippled. The securitrons may have taken this as a sign of violence by the player. I've fixed this by making it so that NPC's do not die when their head is crippled, but instead become unconscious for a long time.
THE GAME CTD'S WHEN I ENTER THIS ONE AREA: This happened to me too. I managed to fix this for myself by changing one simple number value in my scripts. The only simple way I can explain this is to tell you that before, the script "scanned" a large area in a cell for NPC's who may have had crippled limbs. Now, the script scans a much smaller area to find NPC's with crippled limbs. This fixed my CTD's, and it may fix yours.
NPC'S SLOW DOWN / SPEED UP WAY TOO MUCH: I fixed this by simply removing the speed multiplier effects in my scripts which was intended to make the NPC's move slower when they were crippled. I removed that function and replaced it with something else. More on that below.
FEATURES: - Crippling the head now makes the enemy knocked down for 20 seconds. - As before, crippling the torso makes the enemy knocked down for 8 seconds. - Crippling 1 arm reduces all of the enemy's SPECIAL stats to 0. This makes fighting laborious for them. - Crippling 2 arms reduces all the enemy's weapon and fighting skills to 0. This makes them even more inept, and their weapon handling is significantly reduced. The "terrifying presence" effect is also applied to them, making them move away from you for a while. - Crippling 1 leg makes them fall over. They will trip occasionally. - Crippling the second leg will make them fall over again. They will trip over and over.

Hello all. I intend on totally reworking this mod. I've heard your requests and I think soon I will make a revision of Awesome Crippling Effects that doesn't slow the enemies down when their legs are crippled (this is causing too many problems) but instead makes them fall over every few seconds.
In the new build, I have also fixed the head crippling issue (that no one seemed to notice but me) where crippling an enemy's head sometimes didn't register as a kill for the player. This is a problem if you're using my other mod, Pacifist Perks, where you'll be able to cripple an enemy's head and get experience without being penalized by the Pacifist Perks that punish the player for killing. So I fixed that issue.
I want to release the new patch closer to when my REAL GAME comes out, but that may be a while for now. I'm trying to build hype for my REAL GAME which will be released on STEAM probably. But I know holding this patch at ransom is a crumby thing to do, so I'll be working on it intermittently (while I work on OTHER mods that you guys are going to REALLY love. Seriously. Let's just say that with this upcoming mod, close-ranged combat will be changed fantastically.)
So yeah, making mods is a fantastic way for me to spread the word about my real game. But since you guys deserve the patch sooner rather than later, I ask that you subscribe to my YouTube channel for updates on my mods, games, and also meme videos. I'll update the mod soon.
I'll become more active in the Nexus and on Youtube throughout the next few months to gain attention as my new game draws closer to completion. Expect several new mods from yours truly. Would you please subscribe too? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnmQBvuJ_ctg--V5DYdsr7w
I'm also making revisions to Pacifist Perks and Brutal Fall Damage. I highly recommend those too.
New file added. Let me know if you experience any bugs with it!
This time around, I've used effects instead of tokens.
In version 1.6 I have implemented a fix to some characters walking at half speed even though neither of their legs are crippled.
In version 1.7, after people were noting a bug where some NPC's were knocked unconscious rapidly, I've implemented a fix. When an NPC's torso is crippled, the NPC will receive a brief spell that will prevent the NPC being pushed again while the spell is active. The spell lasts 12 seconds.
Head/Torso cripple knockdown effect is excessive. There's no fight against enemies who are just sleeping for 20+ seconds at a time.
The leg cripple knockdown effect is a really really nice and funny idea. though. I like watching enemies just spontaneously fall sometimes. Deathclaws fumbling is so funny.
Awesome Crippling Effects 2 coming soon with rebalance and new features. Enemies only fall over when leg or head is crippled. They get up immediately. Funny / cool jiggling animation occurs when they fall over. Enemies drop weapon when arm is crippled. Enemy moves slower when torso is crippled.
Have you considered implementing a feature similar to the pronounced stagger/stunlock in immersive hit reactions? If you used that effect but made it only trigger when a limb is crippled I think it would be the perfect middle ground of having an emphasised visual reaction from npcs while keeping it fairly balanced
Not really comparable, Immersive Hit Reactions adds a kind of "hitstun" feature to NPCs so that they always stagger a slight bit when they take damage. ACE does not do anything like this and it's effects only kick in when you cripple a limb.
Great mod, this author has tons of great mods for those seeking hardcore survival/immersion. Highly recommend anyone to check out all of his other content.
Hey, I know that the author disabled the knocked up challenge, but you do know that challenge is easily exploitable by pushing down tamed brahmins right? for example the one in front of Raul's house, you can EASILY complete the challenge by just pushing that malnourished brahmin. Or maybe i just didnt read fully enough
Hey man, love your mods! I have a question: would a mod where dismemberment/gibbing is effected by limb damage be possible? For example, wouldn't it be cool if dealing 2x crippling damage (or any other damage requirement) would always result in dismemberment, and not in any other way, or maybe with a much reduced chance? That would sort of be realistic, as well.
