Wouldn't really recommend. Dialogue was awkward with Draco and specially the acting. Felt like the Arthor assumed my character know everything that the Chosen One did. Some comments by Draco made me feel really awkward. Tolvo had that Modder's mark of having a certain quality of voice acting but was alright. Got stuck in the cave where what was supposed to be there didn't show up. Just god fed up and capped Draco. Wouldn't really recommend but wouldn't be against it. more of a background mod to find a reason to put a cap in a deathclaw.
In the Greetings section of the dialog tree, there's a bunch of NPC topics (they all start with an open parenthesis, such as (BOS), for example) which have the Goodbye flag. This is easy to fix in FNVEdit, just remove the Goodbye flag from these.
The reason why is that it prevents certain NPCs from talking when they should, such as Melissa while on the Oh My Papa quest. It took me a while to track this down, so I figured I'd share.
This is, hands down, my favourite companion for New Vegas. He's the Inigo of Vegas and I love him dearly. He's so much fun. I love the scripted reactions as well, and the shenanigans one can get up to with him. It's kind of amazing as well to see the concept of the weird friend you do drugs with realised as a deathclaw. It's even funnier with the Methclaw mod loaded in too as this implies something of a deathclaw drug trafficking operation run right under the noses of the NCR and the Legion. Not that they're going to say anything about it, of course, I mean... they're deathclaws.
The only part that was sad for me was that the mod used Avellone's canon. Which I like even less now that we know how much of a [not pleasant person] Avellone is. I always used killap's restoration patch so I could save the deathclaws in Fallout 2 because a.) saving my beautiful deathclaws and b.) middle finger to Avellone. Soooo for my personal copy of Draco I went ahead and edited the dialogue tree to make telling him about the Californian deathclaws the right chioce, karma and all. (I'msorrypleasedon'tmurderme.) I wouldn't want to upset you with that as a creator with a vision of your own work but...
Knowing that the deathclaws were alive in my canon, I couldn't tell Draco they weren't, I just couldn't. Which meant... stop palying or get editing. I got editing. It was bloody worth it.
(Edit: I kind of wish I could borrow your voice to have Draco react to Methclaw because that, too, would be amazing. There's a deathclaw running a fuckin' illicit drugstore in Quarry Junction? What? How?? Nevermind, I'll take twenty of everything!)
I never understood why modifying your own copy of something for your own private use is such a problem. What right would the mod author even have, figuratively murdering you because you edited something?
One time I made a dialogue patch for a mod (different game, and on the steam workshop) for my own private use and made a comment about it and the mod author legitimately said "You're not allowed to do that. Delete it immediately." Like, why? Did I steal your work and claim it as my own.
A lot of mod authors are whiney losers who make it seem like what they do is the hardest job in the whole damn world. Basically like any IT job. They get a tool (made by the game creators) and resources that help make everything, while only a few people actually make their own assets (even more steal them). I think I find it paradoxical that you can simultaneously be such a massive egotistical a-hole and make stuff that by nature is suppose to be for the community and for people to enjoy.
The reason that mod author got so mad at you is because he didn't want others to realize how simple and easy it is to make mods at the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, there's some commendable work out there, but this whole fiasco with paid mods and collections has shown me just what people become when they get even a whiff of "power". They get a lick of power (not even real power; virtual power, niche power) and turn into total narcissist that can't handle people making minor tweaks to their work. People have a hard time realizing that digital goods like Mods are not novels, or movies, or anything like that. It's all a bi-product of our increasingly "me-me-me" world. Which is also a bi-product of our culture/media (hollywood) being dominated by monopolies that want to make the average person think total unadulterated ownership of something is good (Just look at Disney, or Nintendo for why such a thing is horrendous). Do you think we would have half, if not more, of the cultural, scientific, and societal milestones we have today if everyone made sure no one could change or modify their work? We would still be in the stone age.
You can tell I seriously hate mod authors that act this way about their mods (half of these authors literally have mods where it's the most asinine stuff (boobies mods, mods where you can have sex with deathclaws, etc. etc. etc.)
Hey; I know it's been two years but, if you don't mind, would you mind sharing "your" version of the mod, with the edited dialogue tree ? Or explain how you edited it in the first place so I can do the same ? I just got NV on PC with all DLCs and I'm planning to make my Courier a former Vault 13 dweller who basically grew up alongside the Intelligent Deathclaws before leaving the vault to wander the wasteland. NCFA is literally the first mod I considered installing (because of course a guy from Vault 13 would befriend a Deathclaw), and, just like you, I was a bit bummed to find out that it follows Avellone's canon.
Disagree. The writing and voice-acting are top-notch. Without valid feedback, this just feels liek tribalism, like there's another reason behind the negativity. Is it becaue the companion's a deathclaw?

Well, back to recommending this to everyone who'll listen. (Not that I wasn't doing that anyway, since this was an easy fix.)

Slight rant, sorry.
