I guess people are having issues with the logo, so I fixed it.(Note: at the time of writing, I have not fixed it, but my goal is to finish it before you know that.) It big now so that good for you.

I think the problem was that the logo was getting compressed and ruined the logo for people. So this is an uncompressed .dds exported from GIMP. I also upscaled it before I downscaled it back to size. So this should be an improvement, albeit a lazy one. Hopefully I didn't break anything any everyone is happy :)

I know people like this mod so thank you. This thing really blew up and surpassed some legacy mods of the same category. Still hoping for that #1 spot but I'm sure you guys are keeping that hostage until I upload the 4k version. Unfortunately, by the time I do that, you'll want the 8k version. Do not tell me 8k will never be standard and that 4k won't have benefit from seating distances or what have you. Just know that you don't have to tell me twice, but back in the stoneage.....

There is a correlation between this mod and the fantastic Clean Vanilla HUD by ItsMeJesusHChrist, where loading high resolution images/HUD elements the game will noticeably stutter before producing the asset on screen.
This happens for the loading screens in this mod and for the Xbox Controller UI buttons in Clean Vanilla HUD (which only show up during the tutorial).

There's an interesting comment thread in the posts for Clean Vanilla HUD regarding the nature of this so feel free to take a look at it yourself.
    To summarise:

Uncovered a weird issue. With this only this mod and VUI+ installed (and NV heap replacer) there is a huge lag spike just before certain corner tutorial messages appear. This only happens when using controller input. Not when using m+kb. So far I've noticed it with the following tutorial messages, jump button, aim button, vats button. This is easily reproducible by starting a new game and waiting for the jump tutorial message.

It's a small issue, since I normally disable tutorials but it may happen with other corner messages, not sure why it would be limited to tutorials alone.

EDIT: It's related to the texture atlas "interfaceshared0.dds". Removing that file fixes it. I guessing it's because the controller glyph has to be loaded from that file. It's 16MB as compared to about 1MB for VUIs version. Which is too much for the game maybe. Which means it's probably not easily fixable. Anyway, apologies if already a known issue. Was just curious to investigate.
EDITHARDER: I changed the references to the controller glyphs in the atlas map to point to a renamed copy of VUIs atlas. This "fixed" it. I think. Now only the glyphs are loading a lower res image and the rest of the UI is untouched.

Not very good news I'm afraid. I have confirmed your report and I can't do anything about it since it's not related to bethXML.

I did make a request for a fix at xNVSE Discord by the following message:

There's a perceptible performance hit in the game's message processor when it combines textures with standard text. All messages that include controller button labels in their text are affected by this. This isn't an issue with standard interfaceshared0.dds low res textures, but it is an issue with high res one (Vanilla HD/Remastered/Clean HUD).

    To reproduce, console:
    1) showmessage 6439a (which contains a texture and runs slow)
    2) showmessage 64399 (which doesn't contain a texture and runs fast)

Subsequent runs of the same message will not be slow, but whatever calculations or data the game is pulling do not seem to be cached because if you reload the game, (1) will run slow again.

    Real world test case: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/9154693-vanilla-hud-cleaned/page-32#entry114027098

So, let's hope someone will have a look at it.
All in all it seems to be an engine issue and no fix/upgrade has been made that I'm aware of, unless there is one?
Also, thank you rainvendor for the mod.

I think for the average user they probably wouldn't know how to do this. For me, I just stopped using controller altogether, so much less to compensate for tbh.

I made a patch to make the logo look clean, less jagged because the fix didn't improve the quality for me

Make another version where you remove Interplay for effectively destroying Black Isle and driving Fallout to near bankruptcy
