Edit: No patch setup support for Vortex users smh
Might still just use this mod
Haven't come across a mod that doesn't work the same in Vortex

You shouldn't use Vortex for NV to begin with, most modders will tell you it's not recommended to be used.
However though you should still be able to generate a patch but you will have to figure it out on your own.

Also my mod contains many more fixes not touched on by this mod so you won't get as much benefit.

The reason why nobody wants to use Vortex is because of this 5g1IqiC.png (1190×952) (imgur.com)
It really just creates more work than necessary vs. if it were just a simple drag and drop.

I also heard conflict resolution was pretty bad too.

Lol most modders will for sure tell me it's not recommended and yet:

It's been working great for years, and I certainly prefer it, having already used other options
Also I made some of the most downloaded themes for it, working on a new one rn

Great for you but again the vast majority of modders will tell you not to use it. Just about every single prolific modder
will tell you to avoid it. So who do I believe? them? Or you? People have issues all the time with it on other servers too.
The fact you have a ton of downloads for Vortex themes is irrelevant.

In fact Nexus themselves seems to know it's bad because they are working on some other mod manager or something.

      @Inthegrave
You should not believe anyone, you should always test things yourself and draw your own conclusions, just because someone wrote something, does not make it true.

Vortex works great for Fallout New Vegas, it all so works great on Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and Skyrim. Most people that have something bad to say about it are people that love MO2 and they do not use Vortex, they have never bothered to learn anything about Vortex, and since they do not know anything about Vortex and do not use Vortex, they are not in the position to give any type of informed opinion about Vortex. I would say the only valid argument they have is MO2 uses a virtual file system while Vortex uses hard links and MO2 has the ability to see within archives. Other than that, it comes down to the user's preference and which one they want to mod their game with and both mod managers will successfully mod this game without issue.

Then the majority of the people are people like YOU, that have read a comment or someone else's opinion and then run around and repeat it across various forums and comment sections without knowing anything about what you are talking about, that's being a Parrot, quit spreading FUD.

It's true I never used it myself nor do I ever intend to. But again most prolific modders will tell you it's not recommended to be used.
And the chances of all of them being wrong are slim. So I stand by my assessment.

The reason a lot of modders don't like Vortex and why some popular guides like Viva New Vegas don't recommend it is because of its approach to conflict sorting and overreliance on LOOT.

Instead of letting the user drag and drop files in their load order, Vortex instead opts to essentially force you to use LOOT. The problem with LOOT is that it sorts mods according to a master list. A list which by the way is maintained by humans. So, what happens? Said humans seldom update the New Vegas master list if at all. This then causes Vortex to play Russian Roulette with your load order. Any perceived stability you may gain from it will at best be a placebo. You're randomizing your load order more than stabilizing it.

And in the event you need enforce a certain load order. Mod Organizer 2 is just a case of dragging and dropping. It doesn't get any simpler than that. Vortex however requires you to configure rulesets. They are confusing and cumbersome. And what happens when someone has a problem loading mods in a certain order? It becomes the mod author's problem. I think if Vortex just allowed you to drag and drop, then most mod authors (myself included) wouldn't mind it.

This is why I still use NMM with community patches. Like the old Russian idiom goes: 'The better one is the enemy of the good one'.

Loot it is not supposed to be a magic tool that solves every single load order issue, and it is not advertised as one either. Loot is just a starting point for your load order in any Bethsada game, the main purpose of using Loot is to make sure master files load before plugins that require them and that master files are present when needed and that all hardcoded load order rules are followed and it will do that part perfect and will save you a lot of time in big load orders, the rest is up to the user to check there plugins in Xedit, adjust their load order and resolve conflicts as they see fit.

Those humans that maintain that masterlist are a large group of community members, some of which have been around since the beginning of Nexus and you are wrong loots masterlist for Fallout New Vegas has had multiple updates in 2023 and was last updated June 18 2023, it all so had 42 updates in the year of 2022 and if you would like to view the changelogs for yourself then you can find them here
      https://github.com/loot/falloutnv/commits/v0.18/masterlist.yaml

The way Vortex handles loose file conflicts is more of a failsafe to notify the user there is a conflict that needs to be delt with, it is fairly simple, and I find it not the least bit confusing or cumbersome. For plugins no I cannot drag and drop those, but I still maintain complete control over my load order, and I can place my plugins in any order that I want them to be in.

What happens If someone comments about a problem loading mods in a certain order and is a Vortex user, well I think a better solution for the community would be, instead of spreading FUD, misinformation, and presenting opinions as facts, would be to notify the user that you do not use Vortex or know anything about it and to have a good day or just link this video tutorial playlist by Gopher

This mod has no asset conflicts with Navmesh Overhaul.  It's my understanding you can use both.  Load order shouldn't even matter (atleast not between the two).

You most definitely cannot use both. It is also to my understanding that asset conflicts are not present because the files pertaining to both mods do not possess any form of loose assets to begin with, as their changes are performed through plugins.

Every cell is supposed to have a map of the walkable floor area. Some of the cells were missing the edge connections to the adjacent cells, or they'd have other parts missing so NPCs wouldn't know where they could go. The mod fixes stuff like that.

This has 30-something deleted navmeshes in it. Could that potentially cause crashes?

It shouldn't. In the previous version I used navmeshes with 0 triangles instead of deleting them, but it turns out that only caused a crash in just one location in the sealed sewers. NVAC still prevented the crash though.

That's only the case when LOOT reports the plugin as verified clean (the droplet icon). If it's not reported as clean or dirty, we don't have cleaning data for the version of the mod you're using. I took a look at the mod a while ago &, since I'm not experienced enough with deleted navmeshes in FNV to know when they're problematic, I opted not to add any cleaning data for the mod (I just moved it to an early-loading group for fixes & resources).

Can we by any chance get a patch for Prerelease Restored? I know it might be a bit too much to ask, but that mod seems to be abandoned at this point. And NPCs are not very fond of the stuff added by it.

It fixes all the broken edge connections. There are still other issues I could fix like the navmesh at the rock crushing plant where it's misaligned with the stairs that go up the building, as it confuses Gorobets when he tries to get up there, and it's missing some of the other walkable areas too.
