About this mod

Replaces the NCR Safehouse's bunker with an above-ground bungalow, still only accessible through the underground cave tunnel. Complete with a day/night cycle and toggleable lights, I aimed to provide a much cozier Safehouse without sacrificing the security the vanilla one had.

Description

I always loved the safe feel that the vanilla NCR safehouse's bunker gave. However, it just wasn't cozy enough for me. As much as I wanted it to be somewhere I could hang my hat at the end of the day and relax, it just doesn't have that vibe which some of the other safehouses sport. So when I started a patriotic NCR playthrough, I needed a compromise. Basically, I made a brand new interior for it from scratch, based off the Caesar's Legion safehouse which I found to be quite cozy. I didn't forget the secure feeling, though, as it is still only accessible through the cave tunnel, and the front door and window are all boarded up (And the door also has a "small" concrete slab over it on the outside). Basically, I preserved the security in its surrounding and entrance while making the interior into somewhere you can just let go and relax for a while. Also, did I mention it has a day/night cycle and toggleable lights? It has a day/night cycle and toggleable lights. And yes, the freebies are still there (Check the dresser by the bed. While you're at it, if a certain annoying visitor is stealing the bed, not naming names Gomez, you can fold down the cot above it and use that instead. It will automatically refold once you've slept in it) Speaking of items, if you want somewhere to store your stuff (who doesn't?), there is a gun cabinet in the living room, a small Nuka Cola fridge on the kitchen counter, a dresser in the bedroom for armor and clothes, a toolbox in the workbench for crafting supplies, and a briefcase under the bed for everything else. 

Also, I didn't forget about the reloading bench. You can still access the ammo crafting by activating the reloading press attached to the work bench (Tall red thingy with a lever on it). I figured that since it's a small home and no one probably uses the reloading bench as much as the workbench, it wasn't worth the extra space that a separate workstation would take. 

REQUIREMENTS

Needs all DLC. As of V 2.0, there are no other requirements.


INSTALL

Drag and drop into Data folder, or use a mod manager. May require archive invalidation, which you should use either way.

You still cannot access the house until you have gained a "Liked" rep with NCR and gotten the key from Col. Hsu.


COMPATIBILITIES


Should be compatible with most mods, as I don't know many that affect the safehouse. If anyone finds one, let me know and I'll see what I can do about it. ILO has already been taken care of.

V. 2.1 - Fixed collision bugs in lower half (Tilesets were not previously aligned to the grid)

V. 2.0 - Added a lower portion with a radio room and bathroom. Bathroom also has an infirmary (First aid kit). Removed the SS Machine Replacer as a requirement, but you should still check it out here. Also tweaked the lighting to be a bit darker. The only significant window IS boarded up, after all.
