Fallout New Vegas

About this mod

My final mod for New Vegas, and one of my greatest accomplishments.

Greetings From JC:
Welcome to my final mod design for New Vegas, and… my Masterpiece. Los Angeles is a massive world cell 1/4 the size of the Majove wasteland. However, I did regrettably run out of time to complete the project so there is little navmeshing. This having been said, the quality of design work is ‘exceptional,’ and I can promise that those looking to finally explore Los Angeles will not be disappointed by what I have created. To quote John Hammond, “I spared no expense,” with the time and attention to detail required to duplicate a vast swath of the city which is in itself a 1/5 scale replica.

There are several small communities that I plopped down within the city. These include: New Adytum, Clover Street, Bankers Plaza, and Century City; plus, numerous hidden Easter Eggs, gags, and fluff material meant to help give you an idea of what exactly the NCR is like back home. Just exploring what I have created will take 1-2 hours, yes… it is THAT BIG.

Furthermore, I added CDC Quarantine Camps to Los Angeles since LA was one of the major Fallout Universe cities to have been hit by the Pre-War Super Plague.

Location: Go to theGoodsprings Graveyard, and use the door. Simple.

Instillation Instructions: Drop everything into your Data folder and check off the esp with your mod manager of choice.

You require:
Fallout New VegasEsm
Dead Money Esm
Honest Hearts Esm
Old World Blues Esm
Lonesome Road Esm
Gun RunnersAresenal Esm
Speedy Resource Esm

Terms of Usage: Due to the release of Fallout 4 and the upcoming release of the Fallout 4 Creation Kit, I know that this city will never be used by anyone. However, Los Angeles represents a significant time investment… and… it seemed regrettable to never release the project even if it was just to prove that I built it. Still… if you want to navmesh my design and make a mod… well… go for it, and just post my name somewhere in your credits. The map already has a packaged LOD which I did on my end… so you need not worry about it. Please see the Important Notice at the end of this doc regarding the LOD.

The CDCHospital Screen was a provided edit from the Project Brazil Team. It is a lingering item from a prior development cycle, and I should still maintain my consent of usage.  http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45138/?
(Allother fragment assets should be deleted… There were many).

Time Away from Modding: As I prior stated, this is my last mod for New Vegas. I will do some designs for Fallout 4, but for now… I have to focus on my real life. Suffice it to say, all future plans for Fallout 4 mods are currently on hold. Regarding New Adytum: I actually did build the community for another mod, but due to real life and digital time demands did not package it into this project. The door into New Adytum thus only teleports you to the opposite side of the NCR capitol.

However, if you want to incorporate the NCR capitol into this mod you can find my design of it here.

I know that this seems like an effort to pad my downloads but… my desperation to see this released is tied closely to my personal life… so don’t take it
personally.

Beta Testers: (people who sent me errors)
MisterJohn121

(Important Notice): Though I combed the city for errors, some will likely still remain. Also, due to time constraints I was able to only do sooo much detail work. Though the work is exceptional as it stands… much still remains. This; however, barely detracts from what you are about to see. Also, the Bank of the US building… drove me insane. After much effort I was finally able to fix the LOD error regarding the Bank of the US Building in order to polish off the skyline, but not the LOD errors from certain distant render pops and the water at Santa Monica. I think those are mostly caused from game limitations. Due to the complexity of the design certain low end computers will be unable to run certain parts of the city.

Major Lore Updates: I added CDC Quarantine Camps to a few areas of the city.Sadly, ever since Point Lookout, the lore regarding the Pre-War Super Plague
has been largely ignored. Thus you never see many examples of the government’s attempts to deal with infected within the general population. However, I added a few camps just to the map because I felt that they were needed. I also added crashed astral rubble from BOMB 07. In this maps design I incorporated the idea that a BOMB space station crashed into the Western Seaboard. With this design you see where the space station cut a clear line across the city leaving a giant trench in its wake, and several large impact craters where bits and pieces of the stations non-main mass landed separately across the terrain.

Practical Use: What I am about to say will sound arrogant until you explore the landmass. My design work for LA will likely become a first stop for those wanting to build world cells in Fallout 4. This is because of the way I laid out several detailed areas ranging from eroded beaches to crumbling craters. My design work will likely need to be studied by anyone wanting to learn how to mimic such things for their own work. Thus, I do feel a certain degree of vindication from having published this file.
