About this mod

This plugin patches a very common dialogue loop glitch when speaking to the Courier's brain.

Description:

This patches a very common dialogue issue when speaking to the Courier's brain. When the dialogue option "So, what, you'd rather just stay here? Never leaving that tank of... whatever that stuff is?" is selected, the brain will reminisce about some experiences it had in the Courier's body. It will then loop continuously, IF you have beaten the appropriate quests, saying "Jason Bright and his followers launching into the vast unknown. Helios One coming back online. Jason Bright and his followers launching into the vast unknown. Helios one coming back online." Etcetera... etcetera... I decided to create and release this patch because when doing google searches for a fix, or patch I came up with nothing (which is incredibly surprising, as so many people have complained about this issue online) and decided to make my own. The only known fix before this patch was basically to NOT choose the dialogue option, which is incredibly lame if you ask me. I personally enjoy hearing the brain talk about good times, and you can too!

A Note About Future Versions:

I have decided that if this mod gets more support (at least 10 endorsements), I will be releasing some optional files which will add more dialogue to the brain, adding a lot more info options depending on other quests the player has completed (similarly to how the original infos regarding Jason Bright and Helios One work). I may even work my music producer magic (yes, I'm a music producer IRL) and piece together some voiced dialogue using the vanilla voice acting, depending on how easy or difficult that may be (ultimately it's all about tonal inflection and vocal cadences).

Requirements:

Old World Blues DLC

Installing:

Download with manager and activate, or place the .esm file into your Fallout New Vegas data folder and activate the .esm through your mod manager.

Compatibility:

There is one mod I know of at this moment that this mod is incompatible with. Yukichigai's Unofficial Patch makes a similar change to this dialogue. However, I feel that FOOK (the team who contributed this bug fix to Yukichigai) half-assed this bug fix, their solution was to choose "Say Once" for this dialogue, rather than fixing it so it was the way that Bethesda/Obsidian should have done it. If you have the Unofficial Patch but still want this better bug fix, just place this mod lower in your load order.

Uninstalling:

Simply deactivate the mod or esm file (whichever is possible/easier). Done.
