The more I look at this the worse my headache gets. Terrific job on the model and textures, but the actual design makes zero mechanical sense. I'm guessing it's supposed to be some kind of open-bolt..."thing"...but what's happening right now is straight blowback on a rifle -way- too small for what it's chambered in. The gun would beat itself to death in less than a magazine, though I doubt it'd be fired enough for that to happen since for a straight blowback .308 you'd need a freaking bolt that weighs 20 or more pounds (not to mention the spring weight) and after the first shot your shoulder would either dislocate, be fractured, or the case would be ripped in half as it leaves the chamber.

Seriously, the actual work put in to this mod is VERY impressive and I'm downloading it just so I can endorse it for that, but the design is terrible. If it was down-chambered to maybe 9mm or even 10mm and given an actual dust cover, it would probably be perfect, but as is no.

From what I can tell by looking both in-game and the firing vid that's given, it looks more like a form of rotating bolt or wedge locking design comparable to a home-made Gewehr 43. The fact that it has 2 guide rods on either side of the gun might also suggest there is some sort of mechanical use to them, possibly some sort of gas piston system to toggle said locking wedges? It looks amazing either way, I just feel like a locking wedge system with a buffer spring in the back section would probably a way to make this run properly. Just not in automatic. Ever. Maybe if it had a secondary recoil spring behind the bolt but otherwise no.

Same here. Amazing model and textures. But this gun makes ZERO mechanical sense. Why would someone smart enough to make their own semi-automatic or fully-automatic closed bolt, gas piston rifle leave the action open? And where is the firing pin? Hammer? That... "bolt carrier group" is way too short to contain the length of firing pin that would be necessary to ignite a round if there was even a hammer to strike it.

Perhaps you should read into firearms a bit more than what 'Gun Jesus' puts out on YT....excuse my comment. But onto the function of the rifle. My only gripe is that the rifle should be an open bolt with a recessed firing pin that only is only able to hit the primer once the bolt is fully into battery. Also the rifle could have/use a muzzle booster to propel the the op rod, recoil spring and bolt. Since it looks like some pre-war tool room prototype I wouldn't worry about the lack of a dust cover, even if it is post-war, who cares? Its a dust cover and its slinging .308, that rifle is not going to get choked up too easily. Besides, I don't see any mud filled wheelbarrows in the Mojave :)

I have no clue why but for some reason this mod being enabled causes me to crash when I am near the Thorn. No idea why, it's not even an issue for anyone else as far as I am aware. It isn't because of a mod conflict or anything of the sort, which is why this is confusing, as there wasn't even one of these guns in the area. It appeared to be a vanilla bug which I did not previously know of, but only activates for me when this is enabled. There is no reason for this to occur, so if anyone is wondering before downloading: this will probably not be an issue for you.

Dude, there should be a "Sustained Fire" model of this, a barrel jacket kinda like a scaled down Lewis-Gun's Forced Air Cooling rig + a large Huot style drum: http://www.forgottenweapons.com/the-huot-machine-rifle-a-ross-conversion/ .

I mean, it sounds cool as balls; but it's purely up to you there.

Hello, i am new to the nexus forums and would like to ask to questions.
    1. Is this weapon intended for high level characters? I mean would it make a low level character over powered?
    2. What is the type of ammo it uses?

Sorry if i missed either of those questions/answers in the description.

The description says it is integrated into the leveled lists which means that it will be sold to you by traders and can be looted from enemies so it won't be just given to you.

It's a mid-high level weapon, between the Service Rifle and the LMG. And it uses .308
