So, incase i havent made it clear enough, and/or before someone asks, yes there are two main files. The standard betaV0.6 contains animations and texture replacers, whilst the Non replacer file does not. ONLY INSTALL ONE OF THE MAIN FILES NOT BOTH.
No harm will be done if you do install both, but it may confuse your manager.
Announcement: It may not be such a surprise to most of you, but unfortunately I will no longer be able to update or create any New Vegas overhaul mods for the foreseeable future. This includes the obscurum pandemic update i was working on. I will try to release the latest versions of my work, but i will not be working on them further. I may however still make other non overhaul mods. Note: please feel free to message me if you want to continue work on these mods, ill probably say yes.
1. This is a good mod to do a Legion run. The NCR is inherently hostile (no disguise possible). Some Legion towns can be friendly, like Nelson toward me wearing Rebel gear. Legion run in vanilla is too stretching, but here in this DoC setting is possible, logical, and moral right (no more legion slaves and ncr are terminating us with extreme prejudice)
2. It's a bit bewildering since most of vanilla experience is gone~ I am install extra companion mod to have some help, and explore bit by bits. For now, the NCR-related quests are impossible to complete. Like finding a sheriff for Primm, because we cant talk to Major Knight for Meyer amnesty. Logical, but a bit annoying.
3. The absolute dearth of merchants at beginning areas are telling on my ammo box. No Trudy, Chet, Nash, or that bar chick at Mojave Outpost (hostile)~ melee/unarmed on solo target to save bullets, and energy guns blazing, missing much, also to save bullets. I have to put priority on human targets since the loots might contain bullets. Wildlife are a bullet-drain~
4. The DLC blockage methods doesnt really make sense. HH key get put in Cottonwood, which can be a friendly area (and mostly empty) if you dont push for antiLegion from start. LR get blockage but you can just jump over the fence in that corner. Big MT's entry doesnt get changed. The questions are why? If you cant set up the questions and answer, simplest solution is lot of combat. Like the HH key, put where you can add in a few hostiles that represent Zion, like Lucky Jim shack with 5 tribals inside (and a Happy Trails caravan master corpse). Or a pack of nightstalker den mothers on the Canyon Wreckage. And a squad of roboscorpion in Mojave Drivein.
Hey man, the mod looks sweet so far (Haven't done much and can barely see five feet in front of me so that;ll make combat fun) But when I get to Oldsprings/Goodsprings 1) Is Easy Pete supposed to be dead? and 2) the game crashes when I try to enter the bar.
Edit: Nevermind it was the Infernal Skies.esp causing it. Darn, I was ready for an atmospheric playthrough
Thanks, If you're still looking for an atmospheric experience, you should be able to use this with Days of Chaos: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58310/?
I might have to use that Dusty weather instead. InfernalSky do cause bloating of RAM usage. Dust doesnt do it. Obscurum Pandemic while being very heavy on its own, run okay with 1-1.5GB ram. But this DOC run has the exe run up to 2.5GB easily. While it feel running lighter than OP, it crash more often.
Many times opening up to outside cause a crash. And sometimes, even in door, changing something and BAM, it froze~
Dust 2.0 trash all the quests, so the quests will be all gone. Dust rewrite some of the notes to provide more stories, but DOC dont touch any. so no conflict on note's content. Dust change the Fort worldspace quite extensively so much that I cant even coc into there without CTD. IF DOC has more priority and Fort's changes are not too much, we might able to coc. Most of towns' and casinos' NPC get changed into cannibals in Dust, so this will conflict some with DOC. Honestly, I dont think running both is good idea. Case in point: Sharecroppers area, in Dust there's occasionally some glitches where the spawned NCR templates doesnt get changed into dust's name. They behave as Dust, but their name is good old ncr troopers and not cannibals. Now adding DOC into the soup and it get messy fast~
this is another stupid and pointless mod on nexus that misses the point of FNV. question why would the Mojave end up in this state because The Courier got shot? answer: because The Courier is the most important person in the Mojave.
WRONG!! "The Courier" is ONLY important because the game cant end without them being important the battle of Hoover dam would happen regardless and the Mojave would live or die without them so having it become what this mod is is stupid and removes all player choice.
Don't take this too seriously dude, it's just a silly "what if" scenario and a bare bones "survival simulator" that I made when I first dipped my toes into modding in 2015. Now remember, back then these types of mods were on the rage, so yeah as an amateur modder, it made sense for me to make a low effort Dust/Obscurum clone because I asked a question that no one else seemed to ask. "What if the courier did die in the beginning?" And so I made a mod based around this question, and my personal interpretation of what happened. If you don't like it then good for you, you're not making any sort of hot take. There is no purpose to your comment. But clearly from all the support, comments and downloads here, plenty of people enjoyed this little thought experiment. And you can't take that away from us.
All I have left to say is, Days of Chaos has nothing on my next project. I haven't been doing nothing all this time, and none of you have any idea what's about to hit you.
THIS WAS SO FUN AND INTESTING. I loved everything about it, the only problems I had was the waste hounds helmets showing as errors but other than that it was amazing, someone needs to make mods just for this overhaul. One thing I would of love to see is a retexture of Lucifer's Claw and maybe a custom companion. Also how did the deathclaws evolve? Was it the FEV or something else? Also my game only crashed once and I have a trashy windows 10 ASUS laptop :)
It amazes me that people are still trying this out this mod.
Honestly I cant remember why the deathclaws evolved, I believe that I included some lore in the form of a note somewhere but it wouldn't surprise me if I left that detail out. It's probably just due to the radiation from the legion bombs tbh.
If you loved this, then keep an eye out for my next project ;)
The game crashes around every 5-10 minutes regardless what I do. I only have two other mods enabled, both are supposed to help with stability, so idk what the problem is.
I have serious framerate issues with this mod. While I would love to play it, the terrible frame rate stops me from doing so. I was wondering what I could do to fix this issue.
Edit: I've even enabled only the DoC.esp and FalloutNV.esm and yet I still get frame rate issues, and upon deactivating DoC.esp my game runs perfectly fine.
I made a full installation of New Vegas (base game + all DLCs + packs + NVSE) and when I started the game using NVSE it was almost impossible to play due to low frame rate. I made a clean install (just base game, nothing else) and now I can play this mod without problems.

Fans and Haters alike, love ya'll <3
iirc, either should work fine. I don't think I had enough knowledge of the GECK to make this hardcore only at the time.
