What is this mod anyway?
This mod is my reaction to getting actually bored with the hacking and locking minigames. I also noted that the main locking mechanism of safes, a combination lock key pad, is never even touched in the game. You go straight to the back-up mechanical lock, which is a small oversight in my mind. On top of that, the only way to lock stuff away in-game currently is to put on a mechanical lock or a console involving a hacking minigame. The time to change that is finally here!

What does it do?
This mod adds several safes to the Wasteland featuring 4-digit combination lock puzzles, along with a few locked briefcases featuring a 3-digit lock puzzle, and a single 5-digit lock puzzle is also dumped in there somewhere.

As this is also meant to be a modders resource, all scripts involved have a bit of description in them for your reference. In addition, there is a 10-digit locking script without unlocking puzzle, so that you can copy-paste it to desired length.

How to install this?
Installing and uninstalling is a breeze, as it is just a single .esp that needs to be put in <your fallout folder>\Data. Also, it does not require a thing. I tried my best to make it only dependent on the base game.

Q&A
Q: I have found a bug!
A: Pick up a heavy object and firmly emplace it right on top of said bug.

Q: No really, you have done messed up!
A: Send me a PM. Just be sure that it is not user error.

Q: Will you make a nice interface for this, just like the lockpicking and hacking have?
A: I haven't got a clue how to. If you do, enlighten me.

Q: I like to lock some stuff away in my own mod. Can I use (a part of) this?
A: Yes, as long as you credit me. A straight copy-paste of the whole thing is a no-go, however, copy-pasting the scripts is perfectly fine. Again, just credit me.

Q: Your scripts can be made a ton more efficient! Here, let me show you how...
A: Are you sure you are not using NVSE? As, you know, this mod doesn't require it and I like it that way.

Q: Can there be some safes in the DLC areas? / Can there be more safes and suitcases locked? / Can there be more puzzle types?
A: Sure, of course, what is stopping you?

Q: Your mod actually requires DLC ....., while you said it wouldn't! What now?
A: Let me know by PM, so I can change this description.

Q: This stuff is awesome! Can I endorse and vote for this mod?
A: In fact, you can even do both!

This mod would not have been here if there was no FallOut New Vegas, GECK v1.1, time, and the GECK wiki. Massive thanks to whoever took the trouble to document all that scripting jazz.
