Mod Description

Adds dynamic limb regen to the Phoenix Monocyte Breeder purchased from Doctor Usanagi at the New Vegas medical clinic. The limb regen starts once the player has full health. Limb regen rate is 1 hp/min, with a 5 minute setup time if the limb is initially crippled. The normal player health regen remains unchanged at 1 hp/10 secs. 

Using the concept above, a single crippled limb takes 104 real-world minutes to regen back to 100%. If the player has multiple crippled or fractured limbs, then the amount of healing time increases accordingly: the monocyte breeder will only work on one limb at a time (priority is described below). During limb regeneration mode, the player must avoid health damage, since the monocytes will switch back to health restore mode as soon as health is lost. In this case, full health must be restored for the monocytes to switch priority back to limb regen mode.

So generally:
  • As soon as full health is acquired, the monocytes begin regenerating limbs.
  • Uncrippled limbs are regenerated at 1 hp/minute. Crippled limbs require 5 minutes to un-cripple, which essentially gives the limb 1 hp.
  • Limbs are taken care of in this order of precedence: head, torso, right arm, left arm, right leg, then left leg.
  • All limbs are healed to a minimum amount of health at increasing intervals. The intervals are 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and finally 100%.
  • Assuming health was lost, the Monocyte Breeder continues regenerating player health while sleeping, waiting, fast traveling, etc. This core functionality of the monocyte breeder was not modified.
  • However, limb regen does not occur while sleeping, waiting, fast traveling, etc. I use a separate timer that doesn't apply to these activities. If you want faster regenerating limbs than this, then you can use a doctor or try using my Doctors Take Time To Heal mod which should be faster.
  • To put it simply, all limbs will attain 100% health given enough time, patience, and careful avoidance of further injury. But it will take a VERY long time and the player may still wish to use Doctor's Bags to eliminate most of the wait.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
If you have another monocyte regen mod installed then you must remove it prior to installing this mod.
Place the DynamicMonocyteLimbRegen.esp file into the Fallout New Vegas/Data folder. Activate the mod.

The implant regen script (ImplantRegenScript in GECK).
Additionally adds some in-game messages starting with "AA"

FAQ
Q: My health regen rate was messed up prior to installing this mod and I notice it is still messed up after.
A: You may have had an old mod or previous console command that changed game settings such as timescale. This mod does not modify in-game variables, it only adds limb regen to the monocyte regen script.


Q: It doesn't appear to be healing my limbs.
A: You must have full health first. Limbs are regenerated one at a time in the order of priority. A "crippled" limb however is always healed first... and there is a 5 minute set-up time to start regenerating that limb. That is followed by another 9 minutes of undivided attention to that limb to 'set' that limb. FYI minutes are 'real-world' minutes, not in-game minutes.

Example: you have 3 crippled limbs. It takes 14 minutes for the first limb to heal to 10% before any other limb receives medical attention. The 2nd limb then receives 14 minutes of undivided attention to heal it to 10%. Then the third limb receives 14 minutes of undivided attention to heal it to 10%. So just the crippled limbs would take 42 minutes of real time to all un-cripple and heal to 10%. This assumes that the player doesn't take any damage in those 42 minutes since health damage will cause the monocyte breeder to switch back to health regen mode.
