Fallout New Vegas

About this mod

This is a variation of D3adman5225's Sierra Madre Apartment, made initially for myself, but given permission to upload it for everyone's use.

This is my take and remake of D3adman5225's Sierra Madre Apartment, a small house mod for the Dead Money DLC. This mod gives you a place where you can rest yourself, recharge and load up in the Sierra Madre villa area.

I give D3adman5225 full credit for this, as all I have done is edit his esp, to make the apartment a bit different and a bit less spartan without making it too overpowered.

This remake was originally done, for my own personal use, but D3adman5225 has given me his  permission to upload my version for the communities use.

His original mod is found here.    http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49409/?

Changes I have made are as followed:

The initial apartment was not navmeshed and any companions would just stand in the doorway upon entering.  This has been changed and the apartment is now fully navmeshed and any companion, vanilla or modded will now follow you around the apartment.

*All added containers are unique form factor and will not respawn*

Crafting room changes:

1. I added in one more overhead light, as for me with my aging eyes, I found the crafting area just a bit too dark, requiring me to have my pipboy light on constantly.

2. I have added over both the work bench and the reloading station a cabinet for storage. Each of these contains a very small amount, of either crafting or reloading supplies, depending on the cabinet.

3. 2 lockers have been added next to the crafting bench.

4. A Sierra Madre Vending Machine has been added, and downsized to not be as obtrusive.

5. Metal shelving with some named ammo containers ( with a small amount of ammo ) have  been added next to the reloading bench.

6. A medical supply box has been added, with a small amount of medical supplies.

7. There were initially 3 lockers in the reloading and crafting room, one has been removed  to make room for a couch.

8. I placed a stool in front of the reloading bench. Unfortunately, if you are sitting in this and crafting, after each item you craft is finished, your character will stand up  again, once you are finished making the item.

Annoying, but I haven't been able to figure out how to keep your character in the chair, to keep crafting items. Still, the stool looks "right" being in front of the reloading  bench, so I've left it there.

Kitchen and Living room changes:

1. I moved the stove away from the wall, and instead moved it into and between the kitchen counter area, as it opened up the floor area more and allowed me to place in a sink, next  to the fridge. The sink dispenses clean water.

2. There is now a kitchen table with 2 chairs to sit in. One for yourself and one for a companion.

3. For me, it just didn't feel quite right, that the living room and the sleeping area were all basically the same room. There is now a wall separating these 2 areas...for a  more peaceful nights sleep. ;)

4. I removed the large queen sized bed, placing a smaller one there instead, giving more floor space to work with, which allowed me to add in both a clothes dresser and a  small safe for any valuables. The bed does not give you a well rested bonus, as I thought being where you are, that you may be able to rest...but not all that well.

5. Over the kitchen counters, I added 2 pantry cabinets. Each of these are unique, so you  can put different stuff in each of them. When you first open them you will find a very small amount of various food and snacks. These are not random items, but are placed.

6. One more overhead light has been added, necessary due to the new wall being placed.

7. Various small things added, such as a few posters here and there.

Location:  If you are having trouble finding the apartment, it is near the Central Fountain area, where you first wake up, upon arriving in Sierra Madre.  As requested I am also adding several photos, showing the apartments exact location. I should have initially done this, it was an oversight, me being too familiar with it's location!

Installation:  This is a simple esp, no meshes, or textures. If installing manually, just  unzip and drag and drop into your data folder, then make sure it is checked, before  starting your game.

If using a mod manager ( Mod organizer, FOMM, or NMM ) just follow the instructions,  prompted by whichever manager you are using.

Uninstall: Simply remove the esp, or follow your mod managers instructions.

If necessary, both when installing or if uninstalling, if you are using a "bashed" patch (  Wyre Bash ), or using a "merged" patch ( FNV edit ), then redo your patch, before  restarting your game.

There should be zero conflicts, as this mod does not add anything new. Only if you have another mod that modifies the same cell, should any conflict arrive. I've cleaned this with mod with FNV edit as well, just to be safe.

Some may feel, that there is a bit too much help with this apartment. If so, then only use  if for a 2nd or even a 3rd play-through. Either that or play in hardcore mode from the game  start. Regardless, I feel that I tried to keep the help this mod gives small, realistic and useful, without being overpowered or giving the player too much.

Have fun gaming!
