I had been wanting to see a mod like this for a while, I installed it and prepared to start the honest hearts dlc. however when I start it. In the area where this safehouse is supposed to be, it just doesn't look like any modification. Do I have to complete the DLC for the safehouse to appear?

there's just mountains and some rocks, but anything else.

what can i do or what im doin wrong?

Either it hasn't been installed correctly, or the plug-in simply isn't active.
It's accessible right from arrival and an unvisited mapmarker should also show on your compass/pipboy due east.

I love this mod! The house and surroundings looks nice and it has plenty of interesting objects in it. I wish we could set it as a place to send companions to. Thank you for sharing!

Enjoyed this mod, all the western guns and clothing set out on the tables as you come in reminds me of the Dressing Rooms people use before entering the park on WestWorld.

I like this mod. My one complaint is that, unlike your SM safehouse, there are no little notes giving backstory to the house. I spent 10 minutes searching for them before checking here, and yeah, they aren't there...a pity, but whatevs.

Agreed. I've tried using Mator's tool, but thanks to the navmesh and my lack of GECK experience it'd be much easier for a single ESP.

In a toolbox in a pickup truck. Down the hill and to the right when you face out from the door to the safehouse.

I really like this little place. I wish I found it sooner. Truth be told I should have moved on from the PS3 version to PC sooner.

I always liked to imagine the Courier making his way back to Zion and checking in on the Dead Horses, Sorrows and having a consult with Joshua about the state of affairs in the wasteland. This place is perfect for a Courier/Mailman thinking about a peaceful retirement in his future. The tranquil fireplace to sit by is an added bonus to a cowboy perk loving player I am, these weapons and gear make my cowboy feel like a kid in a candy store.

Is it possible to get one of these armors with blue jeans instead of khakis? Or a beefed up version of Daniel's outfit included? If not it's alright. This place is too cozy not to have. Thanks for making it.

Alright I just checked out your Goodsprings mod out of curiosity to see what else you created. You did create a beefed up version of Daniel's outfit, the Brush Survivalist is a good armor for the Hardened Mailman who digs a flannel shirt (Also that High Stakes 357, nice). Probably only going to stick with the Zion home, but it's nice to know the option is there.

Thanks Sandblaster. Glad you like it. I really felt like doing a Cowboy theme, and it really seemed to fit here. This mod was a bear to do, because space (believe it or not) is not plentiful in Zion. I actually had to remove a portion of the surrounding mountain to get it in. Honestly I was worried at first that it was going to be unstable, but I tested it fairly thorough, and no real issues came to pass. There is occasional clipping, but it was a minor issue (and I couldn't really fix it anyway).

Glad you like it. I sort of look at it as a retirement home as well. I too am a convert to PC from Xbox. Adding on mods are like playing a new game. Haven't looked back since.

      Happy gaming and best Regards,

      Barbarossa.

One of the best mods I downloaded for Honest Hearts. I wish the DLC had something like this originally.

By the way, is the house safe for item storage, especially after the completion of Honest Hearts?

Thanks a lot Forge. Much appreciated. Yes, item storage is perfectly safe. All containers are custom ID'd for the player. Whatever you store, will always be there.

Thanks for the response! If I'm not mistaken, to make things sweeter, this mod was uploaded around my birthday (15th of February). I hope you will continue to make more mods.

I am. But RL keeps getting in the way of progress. I am working a little each evening though on several mods that have been tinkering projects more than anything, but eventually they will work their way into a finished product. My lack of talent in scripting is the only thing slowing me down. Seriously I'm like a kid with crayons when it comes to scripting, but unfortunately these mods I want to make require the skill and it's a slow go.

Hi there this looks like a really good player home/hideout but I noticed that there was no bathroom in the player home/hideout. I know it's the apocalypse and everything but Zion doesn't seem very post apocalypty to me. In the Mojave players primarily use toilets to drink out of but I think maybe adding an outhouse in back behind the house would go along way to adding to the immersion of the home/hideout. Just a thought not meant as a criticism or anything. I see you used the Zion Ranger Station that is next to the General Store as the base template for your home/hideout. If you used the Zion Fishing Lodge for your template it would have had a full bathroom and more room to add stuff . . . Just a observation . . . Thinking out loud. Still great job I'm just learning the G.E.C.K. myself and haven't attempted to even make a house mod yet . . . Your skills are so far beyond me I make noobs look good. Lol

Hey Morgwynn! Yeah, learning the GECK is fun, fun, fun...NOT! Good luck!

On to the toilet...I actually did put an outhouse on the east side of the Safehouse. Look at pictures 6, 7 and 8 in the Images tab (they are labeled 'Looking West 1,' 'Looking West 2' and "Garden')...you will see it. Its an actual outhouse. It provides the animation to "sit" as opposed to "drink." If you look in the GECK, I believe its labeled "outhouse" iirc.

Good eye BTW. I was going to use the Fishing Lodge, but it wouldn't fit (not even close) where I wanted to put the house, so I went with the Ranger Station instead as a template (it barely fits). Funny thing about Zion, it doesn't have a lot of usable space (that isn't covered by NPC patrol areas--and I didn't want to mess anyone's game up by editing those), so I created my own space by removing a portion of the mountain that sits right over where the Safehouse is, in the vanilla game. Oh, and did it take a lot of Navmeshing to make it somewhat companion friendly--a whole other story. Bottom line: the Fishing Lodge wouldn't fit, although, I agree, it would have been a better choice for a template building.

Anyway, check the pictures I noted, the outhouse is there. I always get a toilet in somewhere in my homes, because, like you, I think its important for immersion and feel. The Hopeville Safehouse I recently did, actually has one out back as well (a drinking toilet), that I sandbagged in like a mini-bunker for "realism."

Good luck. There are a ton of house mod tutorials on youtube btw.

      Best Regards,

      Barbarossa
