She's a functioning companion you can take along on your adventures. While I'm not entirely sure how compatible she is with companion managing mods, there shouldn't be many problems. Please report bugs and conflicts if they occur.
For her holster to look right, you'll need an animation replacer such as this one or any other of your choice, or you can simply take it out of her inventory.
As per moderator's advice, let's refrain from discussing lore or anything not related to the mod's actual functionality. Thanks for your patience, everyone.
I'm sorry, I see the effort but the writing is just so goddamned bad, voice acting too... please save yourselves the hours and skip this, no companion is better than this one
This companion mod is fantastic! Hope is truly a heartwarming character. However, finding the starting dialogue with her in Mojave Outpost proved challenging. Without searching for a solution here, I might have missed the quest entirely. It would be even better if she initiated the conversation automatically when you exit Mojave Outpost.
Just in case anyone runs into this mod, I've been told it has game-breaking bugs, mainly including Nevmeshes, save yourself the trouble, and don't download it.
Edit: Made a fixed/updated version, though won't upload it so as to not make anyone angy at me. Download
Double-click the empty space right of "Record Flags".
Check-mark "ESM"
Close And Save (Uncheck backup plugins)
Find and rename "3DNPC_HopeLies.esp" to "3DNPC_HopeLies.esm"
Open the mod's sound folder>Voice then rename "3DNPC_HopeLies.esp" to 3DNPC_HopeLies.esm"
Done.
I've tested it and it works just fine, the only issue you might have is if there is a mod that needs "3DNPC_HopeLies.esp" but there is none as far as I know. If you find issues do let me know.I hope that helps, If you need any help do let me know.
Creator, if you see this, please either do this to your mod or allow me to upload an updated version of the mod.
(Little tip if you don't know how to start the quest, simply talk with Hope in the Mojave Outpost's bar.)
Since the author left no copyright/permission instructions and seems to be absent I will upload it for ya'll, I'm not sure if this is against any rules, if they are, just ask and I'll delete both this message and the link.
This mod needs the .esp as a master (although you might change its master to esm with wrye bash) I simply flagged my Hope Lies esp as esm and added persistence to records that needed it. I also flagged the addon above as esm. There are a couple of navmesh "errors that cannot be resolved" that loading the plugin (Hope Lies) in the GECK and saving, corrected. Then I archived the assets in a bsa uncompressed (due to sound files) and finally added them to my navmesh patch with this. Worked a charm without issues
About you not finding any mods that required the "3DNPC_HopeLies.esp", I found two files that need the ".esp". Game won't launch without a fix. Is there a way to remove the requirement? Or could you do it yourself and upload it again by any chance? I have no skill in modding besides installing them, or else I'd do it myself. Any and all help would be appreciated. The mods that need the master are the Hope Lies - FCO Patch, and Vault 22 - Hope Lies Interior Improved.
@EmperorGarza, It's quite easy to fix, simply create an empty .esp named with the correct name that's needed, as the requirements (Hope Lies in this case) still exist everything should work normally. There are many ways to create an empty ESP, I can provide one if you struggle to do it, but it's good to learn, so if you have a few minutes to spare then learn it!
Of course, you can let me know if it breaks anything and I will see if I can look into it, but again, it's better to learn by yourself instead of looking for there's to fix things (as you already likely know).
Edit: Forgot about @wellden's reply, you can use that method too, it's much better but does need more work as you would need to edit stuff, but if you learn how to do that instead then it's a much better way of doing it.
so i don't see her quest in my pipboy and i don't remember running into the two guys talking to each other that seem to trigger something iunno if i'm missing something or not could anyone help please?
I really enjoy the writing in this mod. I named my courier Faith for a play-through with Hope because I thought it was funny. Then she actually had a line about "Faith and Hope will save the world." It was a great moment. One of my favorite companion mods ever.
Since getting the someguy2000 series of mods, I've always named my male Courier 'Judgment' just because it's fun to read the antagonists' notes complaining about how Judgment is interfering with their schemes. Makes the character sound all ominous.
Then adding Hope, kinda added a new dimension of subtext to that. A preacher's daughter walking hand in hand with the living embodiment of divine wrath. Very Biblical. lol
Tell me you were using the Gehenna? A Light Shining in Darkness? Perhaps Recompense of the Fallen? Please don't tell me you didn't use the Holy Frag Grenades!
1) She's not asked me to take her to Boulder. Does something trigger that? 2) Can you dismiss her? All I have is an option to make her wait. Is that all there is?
Other than that, she's a cool companion, nice country accent with an interesting set of dialogue.
I'm playing a (very!) old save and it turns out I'd already done her quest, just forgot about pretty much everything lol. I realized it once I used console commands to force start her quest (aaaHopesQuest3DNPC) and started recognizing everything.
HOWEVER, there is indeed a problem with the mod: Once you complete her quest the dialogue option to ask about the cave still shows up when you're in a bar. The condition was not set properly in the creation kit I guess, which is what completely threw me off to begin with...
How do I give hope her armor back? I can't do anything with it cause it's marked as "quest item". (Great Mod btw, much more personality, a bit saddened by the lack of a romance option tho)

Heavy dialogue options, multiple endings, and choices throughout. Basically if you like my mods you might enjoy this as well.
