    Everybody,

I'm not sure if any of you are aware of this or not, but I'm in the Merchant Navy.
I've been absent the past week or so because I had a very quick call up to join my ship (overnight actually)
I've been in the middle of the pacific ocean going between Australia and New Zealand, so I've had no internet at all.
This is just a notice for you all, I've not deserted this mod, I just can't be here for it right now.
Drag, Ill message you soon mate, when i next get a proper connection. I'm highjacking the ports WiFi right now on my phone.

Everyone be nice to Drag, while I'm gone hes in charge
    -Perry

Oh god, please don't do that.

It is really weird that some people (usually Americans) are obsessed with 'thanking' people who served in whatever military. What are you thanking him for? Lol he signed up for it. Being in a military (which the merchant navy is not) is a job just like any other (unless it is mandatory). There's zero need whatsoever to thank anyone for it.

Sorry but thats incorrect. While yes merchant navy is not military it is still a sacrifice regardless. But as to the whole military thing. Just because its voluntary does not make it thankless, its even more admirable that individuals sign to have a portion of there life and freedom gone, when in service you go where they say, do what they say and have to stay until you can be honorably discharged. Thanking one for their service is acknowledging the work and sacrifice that they do and make on the daily and for protecting our way of life. Most of my family has served and I plan to as well here soon, I would hate to see military service as another thankless job like whats happened to police, a relative of mine was a cop and told me you don't get any smiles or thanks you get glares and spit. It sucks but that's how people can be. But there is nothing wrong with thanking one for their service, I'm a line cook at BP and I've gotten thanks from people for continuing to work and cook food for them when they order lol. Do I deserve it? hell no I'm just doing my job but to others they are thankful that we are still providing a food and delivery service in these strange times. Same with grocery store employees, hell what they're putting up with is where the thanks should go imo. And while what pwinkle's occupation may not be military they have signed on and do a job a lot would be unwilling to do, having to be away from home in an isolated ocean for multiple months where natural disaster could change or end their life. So yes a thanks for their service is definitely on the table and deserved as they are making a sacrifice of their personal life, safety, being away from family and home. Sorry about the wall of text just wanted to say it after reading your comment. Not angry or anything just feel I needed to say it.

So hey uh... I can't find Dragobody's mod for the NCR mod your talking about, so is it okay if I just installed this mod without it or do I have to install it first? ((Feel free to link the mod if anyone else finds it :) ))

lol don't mind @sturmgewehr44 folks, he's notorious for being anti military/hating on veterans and what not on the steam forums, he's already gotten warned by the mods there before on multiple different game forums

If that got you in a bend, wait till you read what he has to say about the US lmao. Just ignore and move on, the empty cans tend to rattle the most after all ;)

pwinkle your modding and service is appreciated, regardless of what self hating posters have to say

I wanna make this nice and simple, I'm not going to be constantly answering peoples questions when it's apparent that they refuse to read.
So on that cheery note, here we go.
-This mod requires JUST THE MESHES AND TEXTURES from Dragbodys trooper overhaul mod.
-Move Drags stuff into your Data folder.
-DELETE DRAGS ESP FILE. (It could cause conflicts as I edit the same stuff that Drag would've.)
-Move my stuff into your Data folder.
-Click 'Yes to all' when the overwrite prompt comes up.
    -Thats it... Congratulations you won.

If ANYONE comes to me asking how to install this mod or asking if Drags esp is required I now have the (self granted) right to smack you with a leather driving glove.

On a unrelated note, SCREENSHOTS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME.
Please upload any relevant screenshots that you have with this mod in action.

    RECOMMENDED MODS:
    ADAM - VT08 - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43192
    - Basically does what this mod does, but for the Ranger combat armours.
    DLC Weapon Integration - Hairylegs222 - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/47880
    - Does what it says on the tin, I can't play without this now. Makes your game feel a lot more whole.

      good question, seconded.

Titans of the West is definitely a candidate for priority inclusion.

To fix this issue I had to make sure the esp for this mod was loaded after the esp for the original, using loot had them swapped and I also went and set the vanilla body patch to load after the original mod but be overwritten by this one. I'm not sure which of those fixed it but it was one of them. I only noticed after a while into my playthrough that the mod author mentioned above that you should deactivate the esp in drags file that's information that would be helpful on the description page but this hasn't been updated in 8 years so yeah. I'm going to leave the old esp active and if I come across any other issues I may attempt deactivating but for a mod like this it's probably not a good idea and ill end up with a naked ncr.

Update: Did end up disabling the old esp and so far haven't had an issue I will come back to this if I do but I assume as long as this files esp remains active there shouldn't be any problems.

This!! thank you. I have spent so much time in the G.E.C.K. trying to figure this out and all I could find was a name mismatch but couldn't fix it. Basically install the 3 mods (I'm using vortex) the trooper beta mod, vanilla body patch, and then the distributed mod. have the beta trooper file load first, followed by the vanilla patch and then have the distributed file load last. Finally pull up your plugins and disable the ncrtrooperoverhaul.esp. and then you will be good to go.

A lot of troopers seem to have merc grunt outfits for some reason, or it appears that way, even if the outfit is named something else. I thought it fitting for casual wear but it's really odd how many troopers this happens to, and just how widely. Is this intentional? Something tells me it's not.

EDIT: Alright so it's clear stuff isn't working as intended. The grunt armor is called "NCR Conscript Armor" which I think isn't even included in either of these mods, as I can't find its files. I also noticed that some headgear isn't distributed to any soldiers, so it seems like it's broken. I tried downloading it a few times, mixing and matching optional files included in this whole thing and I just can't get it to work.

I really wish this mod didn't touch the N.C.R. Heavy Troopers because I feel like the body armor is a visual downgrade when compared to salvaged power armor.

for some reason this mod makes it to where all the NCR troops have caravan shotguns instead of the service rifle this may be a leveling thing tho but im pretty sure the troops at forelorn hope are always supposed to have Service Rifles. anyone else having this problem?

Its not a problem, the game is like that. All troopers in forlorn hope have caravan shotguns in the beginning of the game, only the sergeant and the rangers (if you help enough around the camp) that helps you attack nelson and when the hevy troopers and veteran rangers arrive at the mojave have superior weapons. I suppose that they have caravan shotguns bc of the current state of forlorn hope, however if you found ALL ncr troopers in the game with caravan shotguns instead of service rifles and ohter weapons, like in mccarran or in camp golf or other places, then some mod that you have is changing the level list of the troopers weapons, mod that isn't this one.

I used to use this mod but it makes the NCR considerably weaker since most if not all of them dont wear armor. All of them are wearing either the trooper fatigues or the merc grunt outfit which has little to no DT. Using legion overhaul mods like ASA completely rekts the NCR.

Id recommend this mod if any of you are looking for another NCR overhaul:

Hey, I'm the author of that mod! I just wanted to say thank you for directing people to it, especially on a popular mod like this one. It means a lot.

If you guys had any features from this mod that you'd like to see implemented onto mine, I'm all ears!
