DESCRIPTION:
Project X7 was a military operation which involved the development and isolation of unique strains of the Forced Evolution Virus(FEV) particularly of strains which granted psionic abilities. Doc Mitchell dedicated the majority of his life to X7 and has managed to successfully develop several stable FEV strains. Due to the nature of his work, he pre-emptively immunised himself to each of these and can no longer be affected by them. In order to finalise his results however, he needs a viable human test subject. Perhaps someone younger, healthier and fit enough to run across the Mojave delivering packages?

You'll do nicely.

Each isolated strain is contained in slow-growing bacterial cultures, which are grown in various types of goop, which are contained in various jars sitting on the medical cart directly in front of your bed. Enjoy your bacterial jelly and your newfound psionic abilities!

WHERE CAN I FIND IT?
Doc Mitchells house, on the metal trolley opposite the bed.

HOW DO I USE IT?
You need a sufficient skill level in explosives and/or energy weapons to accurately aim or you might miss a lot. For some psionics, aiming in third person will be a bit off (eg. Disruption shoots slightly to the left of the crosshair in third person view).

CAN MY COMPANIONS USE IT?

Companions can use melee and flurry type psionics pretty effectively (but only with sufficient skill levels, or else they might miss a lot).
I haven't really tested the other psionics with companions at varying skill levels but I imagine their AI may not handle all of them effectively.

IS IT OP/BALANCED?
Psionics can do a decent amount of damage, they have plenty of utility and do not use up ammo. Requires sufficient skill levels to aim accurately. It's fairly balanced by the skill level requirements, however they may still be OP early game, esp the melee weapons.

Yes! FEV and psionic abilities are present within Fallout lore and some previous games.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

Most of them have names which are self-explanatory. Flurry psionics: basically you can throw a lot of them very quickly to do some damage. Flashblade has a mild knock-back effect which is not actually explained by the name. Pyroblade is a blade of fire. Jack the Ripper tears enemies apart. Fire Bomb is a great way to start a BBQ. Paralysis fills your enemies with existential dread. Etc.

COMPATIBILITY:
Should be compatible with everything. It uses existing weapon effect scripts and visual effects from the base game and Old World Blues DLC (such as explosions and sprites). I've never found a mod that changed these types of scripts and visual effects (and I don't think it's actually possible without breaking the whole game) so it's unlikely you'll encounter a mod that conflicts with mine. Project X7 does not modify any existing game content, it only adds content on top of the base game so it should not conflict with anything. (Unless you delete Doc Mitchells house, replace base game explosion scripts with gibberish and base game visual effects with dancing rainbow unicorns, or sacrifice your firstborn to the old gods or something bizarre)


UPDATING:
Overwrite old version with new version. Alternatively, uninstall old version, install new version.


CREDIT:

NewVegasNinja - The 8 books mod inspired me and helped me get acquainted with the GECK and it gave me an idea of how a psionic mod would work. I also used some visual effect files (sprites) from this mod before I learned how to actually extract them from the game, some of those sprites may still be present/included with my mod files since i didn't see a point in extracting the exact same files from the game


FINAL NOTES:

-Have you seen Project Navada? They have an EMP and HF pulse ability with cool visual effects, wish i could steal those!
-Some psionics are labelled as WIP in-game as they have some effects I'm not 100% satisfied with. eg. Rad-Bomb only explodes when it hits an enemy but not when it hits the ground, Pyroblade emits smoke which i don't really like.
