Dogmeat is a great character from fallout 3 and 4. I had problems with this mod. Dogmeat was much larger than Rex and was constantly bumping in to me while I was surveying a scene. The dog was constantly in my way. I was always having to walk around it. During combat scenes it just was awful. It also is not a companion, no companion wheel, and that is something that is simply essential in a game such as this. Can't recommend it. Also, I violated one of my top rules--never download a mod that has never been updated. Maybe weapon mods but nothing else. Nice idea but absolutely not.
I'd love to have Dogmeat back, but only if he is the way he was in the earlier versions. I remember trying to keep him alive while attacking the Master's stronghold. Then in Fallout 3 there were a number of very good mods providing a number of different behaviors - different levels of aggression, more interaction with the player ("Good boy") and numerous hardware items - armor, packs, etc. Have you managed to integrate any of those features in your mod? I'm using a different Dogmeat mod currently, but I can't do much of anything with him. I can't heal him or tell him to heal himself. He gets killed way too often. He also tends to fall through surfaces, especially with modded areas. I'd like to try your mod but I'd like to have a bit more information before I jump. Thanks.
Is it normal for him to appear right outside Doc Mitchel's house right when you start a new game? I have restarted 3 games and he was there every time.
