About this mod

The next best thing to TGM without using the console.

Permissions and credits
FIRST: You will need FOOK to run this. Get it at: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34684

You should not, however, require any specific DLCs to run it. At least, I don't think you will. But FOOK is a must, as it uses weapon bases and (more importantly) models from that package.

Where to get it: Just walk into the Goodsprings General Store and you'll see seven sort-of-new items just waiting to be picked up. This includes a handgun, a silenced assault rifle, a sniper rifle, a flamethower, a blaster rifle and a stun gun. All six of these weapons do obnoxious amounts of damage and require no ammunition to use (you can ignore the ammo counter, it means nothing). Just pull out the gun and start shooting all day long. Well, actually the Stun Gun uses ammo, but it regenerates ammo on it's own ammo just like a Recharger Rifle. The Stun Gun is there as a non-lethal option for slavers (works with Human Trafficking just dandy, BTW, careless thieves who get caught too often and people who really hate certain plot-essential characters and need to work their anger out without wrecking the plot line.

The seventh and most important item is a simple pair of sunglasses to wear on your face. Put them on and you'll become neigh indestructible, as they not only boost all of your stats to ten and your skills to one hundred, but also jack up your natural armor values and all resistances to their upper limit. As if that wasn't enough they also give built in regeneration to whatever damage to your hitpoints & limbs that somehow manages to sneak by. You'll also find your radiation level, sleep deprivation, thirst and hunger also magically shrinking away to nothing on it's own as well (so go ahead and turn Hardcore Mode on, because you won't even know it's there anymore). Oh, and when you sneak, it kicks in stealth mode to boot. You know, just because. And you'll move faster, too.

"OMG that's way too overpowered!"

Yes it is! Welcome to the "Cheat and God Items" section. You wouldn't be looking through here in the first place if you didn't want insane crap like this. Did I mention that it also turns off all weapon & armor decay as well? Who needs TGM, anyway?

Limitations to Godhood: You can still die from falling and scripted instant-death effects. Also if you should somehow lose the magic shades then you'll become mortal again faster than Superman in a kryptonite mine. This is important to remember because if you go to do Dead Money this mod will do you absolutely no good. Likewise, if you go off to another DLC region and misplace your gear as part of the plot, again you'll be screwed.

You can also (theoretically) still die from radiation poisoning if you stand right on top of a reactor pile or something because while it protects you from radiation & slowly cleans it out of your system, the operative word here is "slowly" - so if you're in a +20 rads per second area or something you can still die (just slower).

Likewise, turning the game difficulty all the way to Very Hard and standing there while enemies pound on you for five minutes will still get you killed, because there is no real way to turn off all incoming damage completely. There is no such thing as "100% resist" without TGM, though this mod comes close, and on Very Easy it will certainly look like you're taking no damage at all. Be that as it may, since you can kill even the toughest of foes with one or two shots from any of these weapons, there is no real reason to leave them standing long enough to actually kill you. In other words, you can still die, but you really have to work at it.

Possible Bug: When I originally made this I ended up with the nefarious "90-degrees" bug with hats and sunglasses, but I went into FVEdit and fixed it. At least, I think I fixed it. I no longer get that particular bug at least. No other bugs to report so far, though.

Other Problems: Just one thing: The ROF on the assault rifle is really high, and a low-end system may get massive lag spikes when using it in "spray & pray" mode (think mini-mini-gun here). Works best if this module is loaded LAST in line! Otherwise your weapon/armor decay may turn itself back on, amongst a few other treats no longer working right.

Best of All: Why yes, you can still get your Steam achievements with this module loaded. Isn't that grand?
