LOD is one of those nasty problems that plagues FNV. However if you use this with NMC LOD you get a big improvement with out the problematical F**kery that goes along with trying to use FNVLODgen.
I actually just recently tried FNVLODGEN and was pretty successful. However it seems to be very quirky and even a lot of veteran modders have had trouble with it.
One time I couldn't generate LOD for TTW until I added a few of the .bsa archives into the fallout .ini's, it was only loading default NV .bsa's. Also some texture mods add very large lod textures and you have to make sure they are resized down. The AI upscaled texture mod for instance comes with probably 100 individual lod textures that I basically just hunted down and deleted because there is no reason to upscale original lods, hell you can't even have lods over 512 unless you want error's in the lodgen console.
I'm not sure if this mod is the culprit, I suspect it is, but I'm getting out of memory errors, disabling this mod fixed it, maybe it needs a lot more memory than I expected and since I have a mid range GPU I guess it's not worth the trade off
true, but fnv puts more strain on cpu than gpu by default, so this might decrease your performance drastically if you have old gpu, or basically have no impact on fps whatsoever

TTW May be the culprit, but still.
