INTRODUCTION:

SPECIAList 5.0 is all new! Designed around a simple concept: "Do you know what makes you SPECIAL?"

SPECIAList focuses on "conditional" Perks. SPECIALizations boosts your abilities and stats, usually at the cost other stats. To improve immersion and role-play, you will no longer be a jack-of-all-trades. Now you're a SPECIAList, with a very specific skill set, which make you very dangerous to raiders and super-mutants.

This mod is designed to play through with a new character. You're starting SPECIAL has been decreased across the board. When selecting your SPECIAL stat, choose wisely! Three (3) is considered average ability, five (5) is above average, and anything over that simply makes you exceptional. You will not be able to increase your SPECIAL stats (aside from Implants, etc) after this point.

To select a SPECIALization, activate one of the items sitting on the table next to the Vigor-Tester in Doc Mitchell's house. You will only be able to activate one item. It is recommend to do this during the character creation quest. Doing so will add the related SPECIALization Perk, adjust your skills, and impact the "starting equipment" returned to you by Doc Mitchell.

DO NOT use this mod with previous saves/versions formerly known as "Wasteland Courier: Factions" or "Wasteland Courier: SPECIAList".

NOT RECOMMENDED with other mods that affect SPECIAL attributes or perks, as there will likely be conflicts.

Like SPECIAList and play Fallout 4?

REQUIRED DLC's AND MODS:

None.

However, it is recommended to be played with the four DLC's: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road (this mod is designed to level 30). Personally, I don't play with the Courier's Stash DLC as I find it un-immersive, and this mod changes your starting equipment to be more immersive.

GENERAL GAMEPLAY CHANGES:

Small random adjustments, fixes, and preferences included to minimize plugins to handle small stuff. Some it inspired by other mods I've seen.

  • Tag Skills have been decreased to 5, but tagging will grant double skill points per point added.
  • Upon accepting Veronica as a follower, she will change from her ugly "hobo" clothes into a Scribe's robe and tinted glasses. These can be removed from her inventory to allow you to offer her any dresses or other clothes/armor you like.
  • Usage Monitor Effects (UMON) have been removed from the game. Chances of addiction are now based on the base percentage of addiction for that specific chem.
  • Map Markers have been added for the Lucky 38 and Old Mormon Fort (reputation: Followers of the Apocalypse). The map marker for New Vegas North Gate has been moved to the intersection outside the King's School of Impersonation and renamed "Freeside Central" (reputation Freeside).
  • Several doors have been changed from Key Only to Lockpick 100; most notably The Freeside South Gate / Vegas North Gate. But the Securitrons will still shoot you on sight.
  • Choosing to join the NCR will no longer erase NCR infamy (since being Vilified has no effect on being offered or accepting the job assignment). The NCR fame for successful completion of "Things That Go Boom" has been significantly increased.
  • Addiction chance for all drugs/alcohol has been increased.
  • Cost of all medical treatments has been increased.
  • Fixed a bug where the Wasteland Doctor Fatigues buff would call itself "Dr. Barrow's Lab Coat".
  • Incorporates "Casino Exchange All" by PintoCat

INSTALLATION / UNINSTALLATION:

If you're here, you probably know how to do this. But since everybody else includes it:

  • Nexus Mod Manager - Click "Download (NMM)" and let it do it's thing!
  • Manual Install - Put the ESP in the .../Fallout New Vegas/Data/* Folder; likewise remove it to uninstall
