About this mod

7 male and 7 female presets, grouped as a new, Norse-themed race.

WHAT IT DOES

It adds a new "race" to the game, called "Asgardian". It does not have a new mesh or textures, and is only a new race because I found it easier to get the look I wanted by editing the base-race facegen data, than to work on top of the messed-up base parameters of the Caucasian race.

The main point of it is the 7 male presets. At some point, after making the Mjolnir hammer for someone, I wanted a specific kind of male face to pose it (and a few other weapons) with. I was aiming for a Thor kind of look -- you know, Norse by Norse-West, so Nordic he'd be at home in Skyrim, and all that, plus with a manly jaw and features, handsome but not effeminate, etc -- to go with said Myolnir hammer. Since none of the few male faces around was what I wanted, I ended up doing my own. Since the comic book Norse gods are supposedly the "Asgardian" race (although in the actual Norse myths they'd be "Aesir"), I named the race and the mod that. Over the time it got a few more faces, and now I'm releasing it

While I was at it, I also made female 7 faces, though some are versions of the same face. These are pretty much anime faces, though still, as it were, anime with a Norse theme.

Most of the faces are based on existing faces in the game, for example male face 2 will make you look fairly like your dad, but they're not identical.

There are two versions of this mod: one has Ling's Coiffures enabled as a master file, so you can use the eyes and haircuts from there, and one is restricted to the ones in the base game. The former will crash your game if you don't have Ling's installed, but gives you more choices if you do have it installed. Typically you'll only need one installed, though nothing bad will happen if you decide to try both and see which default haircut you like best.

Note: I don't know WTH is with Bethesda and face editors, but the one in NV and its screwed up lighting makes the faces look even more different from what they'll look in that game than the one in Fallout 3. I've included pics from the actual game for references, and you're probably better off choosing a face based on those

REQUIREMENTS

As mentioned above, one version of it uses the haircuts, eyes and all from the Ling's Coiffures mod. If you want the extra haircuts, you will need Ling's. However, you can always use the No Ling's version instead if you don't have or don't want Ling's, so this is not a hard requirement.

HOW TO GET IT

If you're just starting the game, just pick "Asgardian" as your race and work from one of the presets. If you're in the middle of a game, you can use the "showracemenu" console command to change your race on the fly.

HOW TO INSTALL IT

Search for "set bInvalidateOlderFiles=0" in your Fallout.ini file and change it to "set bInvalidateOlderFiles=1", if you haven't done so already.

Extract the archive in your Data folder. Select one of the two plugins (with or without Ling's) in the list of data files to load.

HOW TO UNINSTALL IT

Delete the .esp file from your Data directory.

CONFLICTS

It shouldn't conflict with anything, although the master files it requires may conflict with something else. The main candidate is Ling's, which may or may not conflict with other haircut collections, depending on which you use.

LICENSE

I release it in the public domain. You can do whatever you wish with it. Port it to another game, include it in your own mod, retexture it, give it to custom companions, whatever.

I would, of course, be thankful if you gave credit, but if not, I can live with that too. I'm not going to start hounding people because their face looks like one of mine, or anything.
