This is the oldest mod in my load order and I have no reason besides that not to trust it. Does anyone know if this mod has been superseded by anything newer or if this mod is genuinely just well-coded enough for it's age that it can stay?
Removed the mod and Sierra Madre's quest won't start by listening to the broadcast. If I get to the location and use the "unlock" command to get into the bunker nothing happens inside. No gas, no cutscene, nothing.
I'm sorry you're having issues. Mods of course will not work if you uninstall them, and some mods make changes that are not immediately reversed by uninstalling them. In order to force the DLC to not load immediately, Delay DLC stops some of the startup quest stages from firing until certain conditions are met. Those stages are the ones that trigger the quest to continue setup processes related to alerting you of the DLC and making sure the locations are ready to go. By uninstalling the mod while those processes are stopped, there is no way to trigger them to start again.
You best bet would be to reinstall the mod and the load a save at a point before where you uninstalled it.
I had the same issue. I had uninstalled the mod early in my playthrough because of an annoying bug I met when the Old World Blues introduction quest started (the Mysterious broadcast would always play during loading times and conversations and I couldn't stop it nor choose another radio station, uninstalling the mod solved the issue).
I managed to start the Sierra Madre's quest by reinstalling the mod and listening to the entire Sierra Madre broadcast while waiting in front of the abandoned BoS bunker. The Sierra Madre Opening quest then started, and I was able to get in the bunker and start the DLC as intended.
It's probably way too late to help you, but maybe someone else had encoutered the issue as well.
When I use this mod, the White Legs at Zion are friendly. I know this can also happen in vanilla, but it never happened to me and it doesn't happen to me if I don't use this mod. From the wiki: "This appears to be caused by the player not being added to the DLC's player faction and can be fixed on PC by opening the Gamebryo console commands and typing player.AddToFaction xx00b42e 1, replacing "xx" with the Honest Hearts DLC's position in the load order, typically 2." Maybe you somehow forgot to include this command from activating itself when obtaining the quest?
This mod might be old, but it's still totally essential for me. I especially have to give kudos to the way the quest "Sierra Madre Grand Opening!" appears on screen right as the radio transmission says "Sierra Madre grand opening." That is unbelievably impeccable timing and floored the hell out of me.
This is how the game should have been designed from the start.
I'm not sure if this mod is the culprit, but Mad Bomber isn't appearing in my perk list anymore. I use use More Perks, but I was pretty sure that didn't effect any of my perks before.
Yeah, you can disable anything on an individual file basis that you don't want with FNVEdit, might need to watch a tutorial or two but you can do it that way.
