I'm adding this mod late in my playthrough. Will it give me the perks (if I don't have them) if I completed the challenge already before I downloaded this mod?
I think baconman wants to know if the perks are still available at level-up if you haven't gotten them from challenges. IIRC, they are. If you want a perk you haven't earned yet or don't plan to finish a challenge, yes, you can take it if you have the level/stats just like before.
If anyone still reads or uses this but I want to expand on this idea with more challenges and perks. I would like to get some ideas from you guys on what should be added. If you are interested in giving a hand just head to the topic "more challenges" in the mod request section of the forum.
@ SofiaValika I updated my permissions. Apparently I had never set them. Feel free to do whatever. I make no claim to the idea, I just wanted free perks and thought others might too. I had thought about doing DLC ones, but there are so few challenges/perks in DLC that I decided it wasn't worth the effort.
@ Honkstar82 Finally got around to that and noted in the description.
I like the idea of getting more perks for challenges...
So, Gribbleshnibt8, would you mind if I reverse engineered your mod, and release a mod for DLC challenges, before posting it and link it back to your mod?
Thanks for the great mod anyway, challenges were most bragging rights...
Hey all, really love the concept of this mod. However I just installed it and found out that it does not grant you the perks for challenges you complete before the mod is installed. No biggie, new game should fix everything like it always does. Also, any chance of a souped up version to celebrate the Ultimate Edition, or has Skyrim claimed another soul from the Wasteland?
It would be great to note that the ESP is not retroactive on the main page so everyone would know before installing!
@ Keleigh3000 With the exception of maybe getting some of the perks twice (and hence just not getting any effect), they should play fine, so long as the others don't edit the challenge scripts. I liked the idea behind Skill Based Perks, but it was too many for free, and only just for getting the skill up? So I made mine, because the challenges are already there, and because more needed something besides just XP payouts.
This seems like a natural companion to Skill Based Perks (http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=35043) and Practice Makes Perfect (http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=45604). I can see an immersive XP/Skills/Perks ubermod not far off. I'm gonna see if it can play nice with the others.
This is still a favorite mod of mine if for no other reason than to get the jury rigging perk earlier and in a way that makes sense... By fixing things! the fact that you can get other perks for doing things reasonably is almost more of a bonus after that.
