Description

Requires Dead Money!

A portable emitter which you can use to generate a hologram just like those found in the Sierra Madre.

By default the hologram will last for 60 seconds before it runs out of power, and the emitter will take 1 game hour to recharge itself. This is an attempt at balancing because holograms are extremely powerful, as those who have played through the DLC will know. However if you want you can tweak these values:

set HoloActiveTime to xx (how long the hologram will persist for in seconds, set to 0 for unlimited)

set HoloRechargeTime to xx (how long the emitter takes to recharge in game hours, set to 0 for instant recharging)

Personally I wouldn't recommend setting HoloActiveTime too high. The holograms are powerful to a potentially game-breaking degree and don't work well as permanent companions anyway because the flicker and glow effect seems to get lost sometimes after fast travelling, but YMMV.

If you are carrying any Fission Batteries you can also use those to instantly recharge the emitter!

By default you get a Sierra Madre security guy hologram, but if you prefer to see Vera Keyes lasering your enemies to death then use the 'Portable Hologram Emitter Settings' object in your Aid section to change the type to starlet.

Also included is a health monitoring feature. If you turn this on and your health drops to 15% or below, a hologram will be automatically deployed (assuming your emitter is charged of course). This value is also tweakable:

set HoloLowHealth to xx (percentage health needed for hologram deployment)

Lastly in the options menu there are choices to increase the hologram duration at the expense of weapon power. These work by multiplying whatever HoloActiveTime is set to.

Now also includes craftable hologram emitters which can be dropped and activated to create your very own hologram guards. Requires: 1x scrap metal, 1x scrap electronics, 1x fission battery, 1x sensor module. Schematic is on Elijah's workbench.

Installation

Unzip in your New Vegas data directory ("C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data" on my system) and make sure PersonalHologram.esp is checked under "Data Files" in the launcher. Obviously Dead Money should be enabled too.

The emitter can be found in Elijah's room in the Abandoned BoS Bunker. If you've completed Dead Money already the door will be open, otherwise you'll need to hack an average terminal. It's sitting on top of a metal box close to the vending machine.
