This mod is no longer under development. Please use UIO - User Interface Organizer instead.

Hey everybody, I struggled getting Unified HUD Project to install as many of you are. In order to install just install Project Nevada and you will be set

Man i am utterly confused here...I asked this on UIO mod page too and i'll ask it here (just in case somewhat with the answer reads it faster here...) Why would i need UIO, if it doesn't "physically" add anything into the game? I installed UIO, but it doesn't update my game with any kind of new huds or any graphical features! All i know is that i am currently using it to run with F4loot system mod (which requires it to work!) and thats about it...it doesn't add your UI mod to my game! LOL I am just...can someone clear this up?

you've got a jenga tower that you've spent a fair bit of time building, and over time you've come across some nice looking blocks that can work with each other on the tower but in quite specific ways, but you still manage to add them nonetheless. You're also pretty sure that if you decide you don't like one of them and pull it out, it may just destroy the tower, or at least, bring down the parts above it. Fortunately you've got a little tool that makes it easy for the blocks to mesh with each other. Hell, it even has a fancypants gizmo that can remove an individual block without affecting the rest!

Pre-warning to Mod Organizer users looking at this mod.
Unified HUD does not seem to like it.

Reason being the way Mod Organizer works due to profiles, the mod files are not loaded into the game until you actually start the profile they've been turned on for. And said mod files turned off when you're not playing the game. Therefore because Unified HUD expects the mods to be already in the data folder (cause that's how Nexus does it) it doesn't detect any of the mods.

Yes, you can select them manually. However when you do so it will simply reply "You tried to add ____________ HUD elements but the required file was not found. Please re-install that mod correctly if you want its HUD elements. Skipping that mod for now". In other words, assuming it knows better than the modder and outright refusing to install the files you need (This is not the only New Vegas mod with this problem though, Flashlights also suffers from this 'I know better than you' coding).

So basically it looks like if any Mod Organizer users wish to use this mod, we'll have to do a (Unadvisable) mix between Mod Organizer and Nexus Mod Manager.

Though, considering this mod is made by Gopher and it was Gopher who led to me (and I'm assuming most others here) to switch to Mod Organizer in the first place I'm hoping that he can look into this and find a way to make them compatible (or make a video detailing how to work around this).

It just seems like if there's any mod we need working with Mod Organizer it's this one, cause without it so many other great Mods are going to clash with one another. So please Gopher if you're reading this can you give this incompatibility a look? I love your videos (Both guides and lets plays) and your mods, your guides taught me just about everything I know about modding, so this post/request is meant in the utmost respect.

In the meantime however, for those struggling I did end up find this: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/56124/?

Which seems to be a guide on making them co-operate on Mod Organizer. I'm still in the middle of it myself so I can't personally vouch for it working or not, but it may be something people would want to look at for the moment. I'll post a reply later to this once I confirm if it does work or not, and if not how/why.

tldr: This mod was designed for Nexus's system. And is out of date when used by Mod Organizer.

I came here for the exact same reason. Can't get it to work with MO. Gopher did indeed bring me to MO, and it sucks after spending a day trying to get mods working to come across this. I'll check out that tutorial, thanks for linking and making this post. Kudos!

Similarly moved onto MO which is great for so many reasons however there is quite a few mods which suffer due to the FOMOD/UI compatability issues. Damned shame really but hopefully these will be addressed in time by MO's team/creator and modders who update etc.

Unfortunate as MO takes a lot of the stress with regards to adding new mods however I suppose it's a small (hopefully temporary) price to pay...

I had a nightmare with common conflicts in mods like JIP Command & Selective fire, as with Willow when using a bnb body or YUP's Patch, the game just won't start so I have to leave them out as I'm not happy messing with FOMM or NMM whilst using MO.

Most UI mods seem to meet the same fate as with this in MO, or are useable but unrecognisable by Unified HUD Project. On it's own it worked!

I'll endorse it anyway as the principle and work is at a standard you expect from Gopher but it's a shame MO has issues with mods like this.

This mod is pretty much obselete now that UIO is available I highly recommend using that instead, and for MO it is pretty much a must have now.

Using Mod Organizer, UIO made disappear all text menu in the main screen to me. Don't know why it also always delete Fallout.ini inside the Profiles folder.

Went to click on the download w/ manager link and it it tells me I need to use FOMM. Is it being serious or is NMM a safe substitute?

Doesn't really matter, unless you have very compelling reasons, you should go get UIO instead.

Someone please help, at the menu when it detects what I have there is no install and cancel options at the bottom, this prevents me from installing it via NMM

The install setup thingy won't let me install. The setup window is too big I can't even find the Install button.
