Updates:

Hello everyone! After weeks of playing the game with my own mod and tweaks, I must say I enjoyed myself ALOT! :)
I hope those of you who are using my mods feel the same way too!

But alas, nothing is perfect as you know, hence I am now releasing RHF ver 3.0! Yes, it is still savegame compatible but I would recommend a new game.

Main features / past changes as below:

Version 3.0
1. Went through the whole list of community bugfixes, personally handpicked the important, reasonable ones and included them in. If you already have the bugfixes which is the same as mine or if you are unsure, load them before all my .esp files.
2. Changed required gameplay mode for this compilation to HARD difficulty setting, HARDCORE mode is still necessary.
This is due to the balancing of damage between NPC to NPC, NPC to creatures, creatures to you and NPC to you. My intention is to make the battles between NPC vs NPC and NPC vs creatures last longer as compared to you vs them. Therefore your intervention becomes more important in deciding the outcome of a battle.
3. In ver 2.x, although creatures are more deadly and deal you alot of damage, they are as easy to kill as the NPCs.
Now, the creatures deal as much dmg to you but are harder to kill than NPCs. (don't misunderstand, NPCs are still tough to kill provided they wear proper armor)
4. Restored vanilla Intense Training and vanilla gain perks every TWO levels.
5. Reduced initial starting skillpoints for all skills to make you want to level up fast. (but you can't because of the slower leveling mods I've included)
6. Gameplay tweaked to allow you to play alot in low-mid levels and unlikely to be overpowered in high levels.
7. Tweaked to allow companions to become a challenge for you to keep them alive but yet an important team member of yours for all your battles and that they deal sufficient dmg with their default weapons but if you want them to fight tough battles, you need to give them good armors, good weapons with ammos.
8. Go to bottom of this page to see changed recommended settings for SprintMod and Timescale Mod.

For upgrades from v2.x:
Best to delete all previous .esp files. Download, copy and load all .esp files from Main File section.

Sorry if I couldn't explain it any better, but I believed this will be a truly Realistic, Hardcore and Fun gameplay experience for you with my compilation, please enjoy yourself :)

Remember to set HARD difficulty and HARDCORE gamemode.

Oh yes! Go download my very own Backpacks mod to use with the compilation. TOP PRIORITY download!

Version 2.1-2.3
Well, we all know that companions are like a godsend, carry more stuffs for us, fight with unlimited ammo, etc. This version handles the balancing hence you decide if you want to travel with them.

Version 2.0
I play tested the game thoroughly with v1.1 and decided to take out the FO:FWE ported AI behaviour due to unforeseen AI inconsistency. That's about the only change and I believe is a clearer direction towards for people who wants to have their first or second playthrough in Vanilla New Vegas content.

As a result, all the elements work really well together. There shouldn't be any more changes. Enjoy people :)

---------------------
Description
---------------------

Harsher hardcore survival in FNV yet not forgetting fun RPG elements of progression is what I sought after with the tweakings in this compilation.

Main Features:
----------------
1. You are now as vulnerable as your NPC human victims. Watch where you are in gunfights!

2. Headshots are more lethal now (not overly lethal) and overall you deal more damage but so is everybody else.

3. Tactical VATS: As per default Vanilla setting, you get 25% less damage and better critical chance in during VATS. But now, headshots are harder and weapon degrade faster in VATS. Use VATS wisely.

4. Most creatures are tougher and more dangerous than ever! Target the right areas to deal effective damage!
note: if you find creatures hard to kill, do deploy strategies like slowing their movements (go for the legs), impairing their damage (shoot the arms) and such. Don't cry.

5. All items have realistic weights based on a simple rule that Bottled Purified Water = 1WG.
Hence you know Stimpacks can't be 0WG or 0.02WG, Stimpacks weigh 0.1WG here.

6. Removed all food and drinks' healing effects.

7. You will now want to choose what you eat and drink! And maybe also what to store to eat later. :)
eg. Cooked food satisfy your hunger more than that readily available InstaMash or Salisbury Steak!

8. You now find lesser ammo, lesser caps and much lesser meds!
XFO selectable tweaks used in my compilation for ammo, caps and meds rarity. (credit XFO)

9. Everyone will now charge you alot more and trade you alot less if your barter skills are low.

10. SPECIAL stats are now more important for more HP, AP, skills etc.

11. Tag! skills now increase by 2 instead of 1 when you spend a skillpoint in it (oldschool :p)

12. Companions now have lesser health because they had too much to begin with.
Note: They are still NOT essential ie. they will still die permanently.

13. ED-E, Rex, Lily deals 30% lesser dmg now. Previously you could just sit back and let them kill all your enemies but you can't now.

14. Companions do not autoheal after combat, ie. no more god mode. (credit QorakSOS)

15. Companions now gets healed more per Stimpack when you apply to them directly yourself (via Companion Wheel). Poison can be removed when you apply Stimpack on them directly, be quick though coz poison are very deadly!

16. Ed-E, Rex and Lily now able to carry faction armors around. (credit OniKeaton)

17 . Slower leveling, lesser xp for challenges, kills and hence more low-mid level gameplay. Level cap raised to 60. (don't think you will even reach level 40 though)
Included 3 files from Kotlecik's Experience Level Adjust Mod for the leveling pace.
If you do not like the pace I chose, choose from his Mod and load it the last. (credit Kotlecik)
http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36411
You will now have to decide what specialties and the type of character you want to play!

18. Your skills and weapons' condition now affect your weapon handling, rate of fire, accuracy etc more.

19. Unarmed damage is overpowered and yes I agreed, hence all unarmed weapons' dmg reduced by 30%.

20. Reduced to *almost* no autoaim.

No major tweaks are made to the Armors, Weapons and Creatures' stats, hence you will be enjoying and exploring Vanilla New Vegas, before playing with other overhaul mod(s).

Disclaimer:
I claim no credit whatsoever other than the tweaking of weights and effects for the Chems, Food and Drinks, the porting of certain FWE numbers and many other changes to balance the gameplay. I am very thankful for the people who created all these mods and if you (the actual author) do not want to be in my compilation, please send me a message and I will take them off. :)

***IMPORTANT***

My compilation is designed for HARD difficulty, HARDCORE game mode for realistic gameplay. If you have very high gun skills, it is possible to obtain 1 headshot 1 kill (mainly on humans). Otherwise you will probably need 2-3 headshots or a sneak attack critical to kill (a human). This simulates the ability to "learn" to use a weapon and utilise it to the max.

One of the main reasons to play on HARD mode is also because I am balancing the damage from NPC to NPC, NPC to creatures, You to creatures and You to NPC to make gameplay challenging and realistic.
On VERY HARD mode, it may not be as enjoyable if realistic gameplay is what you want. ie. to not be able to do 1 headshot 1 kill even if you're highly skilled with the best weapon and you will be most likely be 1-shot-killed yourself.

The above 5 recommended mods are very important. I can't play without them. I played and tested my tweaks with these mods and settings in place.

Personal taste:

- DK Bullet Time

in game, use the toggle tool to set AP Drain rate to be "FAST"
allow another tactical option (if you don't want to activate your own real life fast reflexes for every encounter).

- Running animation from FO3 restored!
