About this mod

This little mod changes the weapon ED-E uses into a Taser. It does lower actual damage, but has a tazing effect, and can cause opponents to fall unconscious. Critical hits cause them to flop about and spark amusingly.

In all versions the following changes have been made - EDE's weapon has been replaced with an Ion beam - AKA - effects pulled from the FO3 DLC Tesla cannon - the inital version you find is unfocused, and weak, shooting out as an awesome looking bolt of lightning. Effectively this is supposed to be a less-than-lethal version, as it primarily damages its targets' fatigue. Critical hits are more fun though, usually knocking the target out outright, and making them flop about sparking and smoking in any event. what fun!

You may also notice that he'll have less difficulty getting through doors now, as his size was decreased 10% - really it's difficult to tell, except that he seemed to be able to follow me around easier now.

The upgraded versions have had statistics bootsted -he's a little more accurate now, and gets a bit of a speed increase, as well as some more health.

If you go the route of upgrading his armor, you will find that he still retains the default zapper, but may be able to hit with it a bit better. This was done under the theory that he was cleaned up and had his servos oiled, or something. He also gets more health, since he's more likely to be in close, shooting that cone of lightning and taking hits.

The weapon upgrade gives back some of his lethality, with a focused stream of electricty, more actual damage (but not as much as in vanilla) and some faster firing at a significantly longer range. He still shocks the crap out of things, but now he's more prone to kill them outright, too. This version has his DT boosted a skosh, nothing like the pure armor upgrade, but a bit, under the assumption that replacing the licence plates and tin cans with duraframe steel had a positive effect.

version 1.2 - post major patch - ED-E has been modded to reflect the new leveling mechanic, as well as a couple of other minor things cleaned up.

There are now four flavors to choose from:
Base - which is the baseline version of this mod - all the other versions are modded from here.
Nonessential - The same as the Base version, but with the Essential flag removed.
Phalanx - EDE with my tweaks and the Phalanx settings brought across - should be loaded AFTER Phalanx
Phalanx nonessential - rather obvious, this.

Of course, just run one version of this.

Any other mods that change ED-E may not work as intended when used in conjunction with this mod. Choose your load order carefully!
