Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately still holds true as of 2022. They're considered different objects by the engine and thus are not detected by the Challenge :/
Just to clarify, that is super not why it doesn't work. (The snowglobes are all each exactly still the same, every one of them.) I can see why you made this guess, and it isn't that bad a guess, not at all, but as it stands you are confidently spreading misinfo.
The reason why this mod bricks the Kitsch Master challenge is because this mod dings the snowglobe script that vanilla fnv has -- which is there to handle the various snowglobe functions. Snowglobe Perks overwrites that script in order to add the functionality that gives the player the perks on pick-up.
However, TTW also overwrites this script with a version of its own so as to plant the code that allows Kitsch Master to function. If you also load this mod (snowglobe perks) that change will be yet again overwritten, which is why that specific TTW challenge no longer works
Now here's the good news. All y'all need do to fix this is to type this in the console whenever you pick up a snowglobe, thereby incrementing the count manually, and you'll be fine: IncrementScriptedChallenge TTWChallengeKitschMaster That's all, now git!
Nad how exactly realistic is that to be awarded with perks for collecting bobbleheads? How exactly does it make Snow Globes any different?...those are the questions you need to ask yourself...
I love the mod too! However, I have a similar problem with Silver1991, but for me it was slightly different. I went to get the Goodsprings Snowglobe and when I picked it up I got the perk twice as well. Is the perk supposed to be replaced with the other one depending on who you side with? I don't know if this affects the other snowglobes for now...
It's been a long, long time since I've logged on here but I've gotten to playing through New Vegas again and thought I'd check on my old mods while looking for new ones. I'm very pleased at how well this one was received, even for half a decade after the release of the game!
And no, still not going to do anything for the DLC Snowglobes. Even if I had time I'd have to re-teach myself GECK first as it's been such a long time.
I saw that the mod author probably isn't gonna do the DLC snow globes, and that he said that people would be free to make their own for the DLC ones, as long as they pointed back to the original author...
I have a few ideas for the DLC snowglobes, but since I have no modding experience, I can't do them... But I'll still share them.
Sierra Madre Snowglobe: Conserve Supplies!
Finding the Sierra Madre Snowglobe helped you discover tricks to conserve much needed supplies more efficiently. You gain an additional 3% chance to recover empty casing and drained energy ammo when you use weapons, and gain a 3 lbs increase to your carry weight.
Zion Valley Snowglobe: Spirit of the Survivalist
Finding the Zion Valley Snowglobe was a testament of your skills in surviving a harsh and hostile environment. For this reason, you recover 10% more hunger from food, 10% more dehydration from water, and 10% more sleep deprivation from sleeping.
Big MT Snowglobe: FOR SCIENCE!
Finding the Big MT snowglobe filled your brain with SCIENCE!, giving you a 6% increase in chances to recover drained energy ammo after firing an energy weapon, as well as increasing your critical chance against robots, cazadores and nightstalkers by a flat 1%.
The Divide Snowglobe: Blast from your past
Finding the snowglobe from the Divide made you reflect on the destruction your actions caused... Whether you regret it or bloom from it. If you have good or neutral karma, you gain a +5% efficiency increase from every healing item you use, from your newfound dedication to the healing science. If you have a bad karma, your rate of fire and reload speed increase by 5%, from your renewed interest in the art of destruction.
What do you think about that?
Great job with the mod BTW, endorsing it!
PS: BTW, seems like we have a troper here, for the Big Dam(n) Hero!
Well...Sierra Madre one seems quite plausible, but tbh with you i'd add a variety of bonuses, that would keep track onto how i progressed and which ending i got with Snow Globe from respective add-on! Like for example ending A would grant one set of bonuses, ending B other set etc...if you'd think about it- it all makes sense, the outcome should influence Snow Globe effect smooth and logically! Like original 7 snow globes from this mod! As for Zion one i don't like it! Outside of Hardcore Mode its completely useless and makes no difference for players, that prefer not to play hardcore mode! Rationally it would make sense to give a boost to both Endurance special stat and Survival skill for Zion one, but it would not logically fit, since there are only 4 snow globes in the DLCs and non of original vanilla ones provide any bonus to a SPECIAL stat and since survival skill boost already used for Goodsprings snow globe it automatically eliminates the possibility for that as well! Given the circumstances the most rational choice would be a permanent boost to overall Hit Points say in 50 total! As for secondary effect i would add more effective healing effect for crippled body parts (like 10-15% slight boost)! Big MT one seems too similar to Sierra Madre one and would make bonus of drained ammo for energy weapons too strong, however critical chance part is quite plausible! But you need to think of something else other than 6% bonus for drained energy ammo! I suggest bigger amount of energy weapons ammo gained from recycling, when using workbench (like twice or 1.5 usual rate)! As for Devide one, i'm quite indifferent, while it doesn't break the balance overall, it still not bringing anything useful onto the table, besides the whole Karma thing is quite controversial and doesn't really sit well with the nature of the add-on! (the motives and morals are somewhat rather unclear, unless we're talking about very specific endings from finishing LR!)...
There is a new mod out called "Ghost town gunfight peaceful solution by Jtull" I think it appears to be a really good idea and looks like a good mod. I am hoping you might be willing to make this mod compatible with it since I think having that mod might conflict with the "Good Speed Courier" perk this mod creates. I really like your snowglobe perk mod a lot so I would definitely just choose to keep it and not use the other mod if you don't have time to change things. I contacted the other mod writer to in hopes that they might want to make compatible edits to there new mod if need be as well because I think they are both worthy mods to have. Truly though thank you for this great mod you have created here by the way. You and your work are appreciated.
You might do better to ask Jtull to make his "Ghost town Gunfight Peaceful Solution" to work on a compatibility patch if there are, in fact, conflicts between the mods, considering that this mod hasn't been updated since 2011.
